Tends to perpetuate itself - fewer black players means fewer black friends/acquaintances playing means less opportunity/interest.

I don't think thats a correct comparison as many more women play pool than black people do.

Actually there really are not that many true American pro players of any race. All the Asian countries contribute a big % of true pro players and European pro players come from countries with low black population percentages —-

If pool in America was popular enough to create a much higher number of true world competitive pros then perhaps the racial mix would change a bit.

Not an equal comparison, but I didn't say it was, nor did I intend it to be. But they do ultimately suffer from many of the same issues.
