Why Did Brighton Billiards Close?

I've only been there a couple of times, but I got along with the owner, Dave Egdahl, when I was there.

Does anyone know why they've closed?

Basically because he wasn't making money from what I've been told.

I was there quite some time ago -- August of 1998. At the time, the owner told me there was a brand new law that was going to force the room to go smoke free *unless* they got a liquor license and began serving alcohol. I don't know what he did.

Also shortly before I was there, there apparently was a friendly young woman there who nobody had heard of or seen before. The woman *really* impressed the local players, running a couple racks in a row on the tight GC III's without getting out of line. "I don't know who she is, but we're going to be hearing a lot more from her" was the sentiment--a prophetic sentiment I might add.
