The main writer in the 80's and early 90's who put out the main books became the main guru and the guy was a mechanical engineer and novel writer and did not even play pool, he played 3=cushion and was nothing but a club player at that game. He did nothing but collect information from people like me and soon even him got confused.
What you have now found out is there are some things you grew up thinking were laws of pool, like thou shall not drop thou elbow and are now waking up to realize who ever wrote this should be hung.
