Why does the Billiard Industry operate at a discounted rate ?????
I have noticed over the last 9 years that MOST of our industry operates on a: 1. I am somebody who should get stuff for almost wholesale or below, 2. I know someone in the business and that should get ME stuff for almost wholesale or below or 3. I am going to be someone in the business that should get stuff for almost wholesale or below
NONE OF THESE ARE EXCUSES FOR A DISCOUNT>
It really comes from people who do not have any business ethics. If there is MSRP or at least MAP pricing you are supposed to follow in those guidelines.
People undercutting one another is how it happens. I will pass on a sale, rather than take less.
I give a little bit of discount for me not being a retailer, but, I also do not give them the products for wholesale or break my agreement.
Making money involves a good formula and mine does not include working for very little or free.
Charging properly for ALL materials and accessories is how you MAKE money and not LOSE.
Then you have the most WRONG situation you could have: Factory Direct Pricing and the same company having a network of dealers that CONSISTENTLY undercut one another AND THE FACTORY> This is the worst way to operate I have ever seen.
What can we do to help this??
