again, as most on here know, i went to St. Louis right before Christmas and took a lesson from Mark Wilson. he basically had me open up my stance big time, and get my arm away from my body so i could swing less restricted.

however, with my stance so open, it puts alot of pressure on my legs and knees, especially the front leg. to the point where it is just plain uncomfortable. i can feel the tension in the legs, and its just hard to keep still as a result. i've been fighting this feeling for about 3 months now, and dont think its going to improve.

anybody else find this to be true?
in your own game, or perhaps after you took a lesson from Mark Wilson, or another instructor?

thanks,
DCP

sounds like you may be going a little extreme on the open part of the stance..........i'm not sure what mark teaches........are you sure you're doing it exactly like he showed you? sounds like you're legs aren't relaxed.......i dunno what to tell you here, i go to an instructor every month, but i've never had to overhaul my stance.........

how far apart are you feet?

I've seen players use an extra wide stance, to get down to the shot. In some cases we may all use that stance on occasion.

In several physical activities (sports), the comfortable posture for maximum balance is having the feet (heels) approximately a shoulders width apart. Having a good comfortable posture, will give you a better balance. You won't tire as easily, if you are comfortable.
