Wood Question For Cuemakers

i've noticed that the wood mahogony, is drop dead beautiful! i know cues incorporate coccobolla and rosewood which are deep rich dark brown, but what about mahogony? this is the mother of all dark brown woods, is it too heavy for a cue? and that's why it's not used/seen? thanks.
 
Mahogany

Too light and unstable.
Philippine mahogany is used on pool tables.
I know one cuemaker who uses it for his handles.
