Wooden Pocket Inserts

When did pooltable manufacturers stop using the wooden inserts on the pockets?

I don't know who made this particular table. It has no markings, other than a serial number that's stamped in different locations underneath the table. The frame appears to be made of mahagony. The table looks like just an inexpensive type table.

I was wondering how old it was, and thought the wood inserts on the pockets would give someone an idea of it's age.

I'm not sure if there is an exact date of when the manufacturer's stopped making them. I can say I have never seen them on tables dated post 1930's.

Is the mahogany a veneer or solid? An inexpensive table with wooden pocket inserts (mahogany veneer under maple, poplar, oak, ash etc...) my guess would be a Brunswick Wellington.
