**WORLD 8-BALL CHAMPIONSHIP *LIVE* FROM Melbourne, Australia

Wouldn't you know it .. as soon as I posted this the stream went down. I hope they are just rebooting/refreshing. I'm keeping it open on another window just in case.

EDIT: Never mind -- while AZ was down I went to their website -- seems it's over :(

Cueball.TV is Streaming the World 8-Ball Championship from Melbourne, Australia.

No sound or commentary but some good action.

I didn't go to your UStream link and have only seen this comment just now, so am only guessing really......but what you were watching there was almost certainly a re-streaming of the official stream of the WEPF World 8 Ball Championships (Uk style 8 ball) presently taking place in Blackpool in England, not Melbourne Australia. To the best of my knowledge there are no World Championships presently taking place in Australia nor have they ever been held there.

I was watching the stream on another link. To be honest the streaming quality is appalling due to technical problems.

They have now reached the semi final stages of the Mens Singles. The semi finalists tomorrow are Phil Harrison (England), Adam Davis (England), Ben Nunan (Australia) and Mick Hill (England, who you may recall from the IPT and from a few other brief forays into American pool).

If I remember over the weekend I'll put up a link to the official stream when they broadcast semis and final.

There was no commentary -- I got the Australia reference from the profile of the streamer. I researched the source which turns out to be theses folks: http://www.cueball.tv/forum There is a forum there and folks had been talking about it so it was live. Perhaps they are just using this person's account or this person also went to the event and is broadcasting his own stream???? That site is hard to read for me ... to busy looking and really hard on the eyes.

Hope you come up with something. I'm not sure I'll be around this weekend. You might have to make a totally difference thread with the correct title (location).

Yes Bob, that is indeed an Australian site which were just picking up the Uk based streaming of the WEPF World 8 Ball Championships taking place in Blackpool, England and re-streaming it. Quite a few Australians were in the event and one has reached the semis of the main event, hence their high interest level in it.

I'll link a thread to the direct free Uk streaming of the semis and final if they get the technics sorted out.At present it's not worth watching due to the quality and to be honest the 'arena' they are playing in looks like someone has taken a couple of old discarded doors from the nearest rubbish tip, set them up in an airing cupboard and draped some advertising cloth over them. This reflects the standing of pool as a global spectator sport I'm afraid.
