and all throughout the tourney I was wondering why the balls were travelling so damn fast and far on slow rolls
 
I think it's just the pocket leathers that are chinese. I'm pretty sure the tables are English Riley tables - at least they were up to a few years ago.
I've actually played on the very table that the 2008 final was played on and that one was definitely a Riley.

They are in fact the Chinese Star tables made by the Beijing Xingpai Sports Goods Company:

They have used Star tables for all World Snooker Main Tour events since the start of the 2009/10 season.

Yup, moved from Rileys last year. Still steel block cushions with northern rubbers and Strachan No.10 cloth, bed heaters and TV lighting + a damn good brush and ironing :D very quick.
 
i'll assume they're made in a factory that produces toasters and cheap leather bags

oh well, money talks, but I'll take the Riley any day of the week
