World Team Championship Format

This is taken from the invitation:

Playing Format:
Double elimination
last 16 Single elimination
two scotch double matches 8-ball race to 6
two single matches 9-ball race to 8
two single matches 10-ball race to 7
If a match read a tie (3:3)
Shoot out will be deciding who wins the match

Can anybody explains this as it looks like whom ever I talk to understands it differently.....

Did the participating countries advertise their teams yet?
What about the American team? will it be the same team of the Mosconi cup?

Well since this event finally got some attention here I thought to bump this up.....

  Each "match" between two teams is consist of: two matches of single 9ball, two matches of singles 10ball and two matches of scotch doubles 8ball with the above races.

• 
  If there is a tie, a shoot out will be deciding who wins the match.

My questions:
1. what is the "shoot out"?
2. I heard that during the "match" between the teams, all games (sub-matches) are being played at the same time, it that true? Sounds impossible to me if a team is composed of only 4 players....

i am not sure about the "shoot out" but i think it could be a race to 3 in 9Ball. On ones side 5 names of one team and on the other side from the other team.
Each of the 4 names have to be on the sheet, and the last name is a second time on the sheet - if it´s 2 : 2 after four games, you know.
That could be, but i don´t know it for sure !

The other thing is easy, normaly here in Europe we play leagues like that in two seperate "rounds or pieces", or better "parts" ! :grin:
First part, we start with the doubles on two tables and after that comes the second part with the singles on - yeah, 4 tables.
More often there could be 3 parts, too, if there are only TWO TABLES to play on for each match.
