Dear Lords of Snooker have to be embarrassed with what they just witnessed on the baize at my house in our fifth and DECIDER of afternoon play. Buddy of mine and I playing and taking advantage of the President's Day holiday.
The colors somehow got placed in horrible positions. We took turns either potting one read and then snookering the other on the next shot because no colors were in good positions to pot. There was one foul on a red when I also potted the cue ball.
We went into rotation with me leading 13-6. He potted yellow, green and brown to take a 15-13. I made the blue to make it 18-15. The pink and black were right next to each other by the left-corner pocket. I tapped the pink and the black stuck right on the ridge of the pocket. We spent way too much time trying to pot the pink. We really couldn't snooker each other because the black was right there on the fringe of the pocket. FINALLY I got a chance to pot the pink and even though my screw shot didn't come back as far as I wanted I still had a good enough angle to pot the black to finish the frame.
But it was ugly and even my 10-year-old son made the comment - "I think even I could have made a break of at least 23 with the way the table was lay out."
UGH!
