Why G-10 and/or why not blk. phenolic like everyone else uses?
Are you aware of the differences btwn the two mtrls.?
A quick FYI:
G10 is a continuous woven glass fabric laminated with an epoxy resin.
The sheet rod is ground from a sheet of raw material.
It is extremely high in mechanical strength, has low moisture absorption and dissipation factors.
It is flame retardant at 300 degrees F (that should help if the cue ever catches fire).
Atxxx Double Black Linen® Tube was developed specifically for custom cue makers.
The tubing is manufactured using a fine black linen and a proprietary pigmented-resin system.
The material is a thermo-set linen phenolic impregnated plastic, strong, easy to machine,
and jet black in color after applying a clear coat. (There is no glass in phenolic).
If you think black-lung is scary, imagine glass-dust coating the interior of your lungs.
"Breath deep the gathering doom" because you could be spitting up blood within a week.
Is that scary enough for you?
There is no benefit to using G-10 in a cue other than weight savings.
