Hiya all,

im looking to get 2 cues to give my younger brothers a nice chrismas gift each, but im working on a tight budget and it doesnt help that im located in Singapore.. preferably joss, mcdermott, falcon or viking, but will consider all offers, as long as its not too beat up and is still straight together and apart.

Also may look to buy a decent break cue, but priority is still with buying the 2 cues. My budget is around 250 shipped to Singapore for both, but i can work it out i see something nice.

Post here or pm me offers thanks.

Get a couple of those KC cues off ebay. They're decent cues. Click on the link below. I had a 6 point KC once and it played very well. The non pointed cues would be excellent for your brothers.

KC Cues

Thanks Hal for the link, i dint have a good impression of them before to be frank. I was hoping someone here had a couple of old cues to let go of, but i think your endorsement of the playability of the KC cues has made them a good option to me as well. And im also considering an attractive offer made by Mr Varney ;)

Well I'm not saying KC cues are "all that". But in my opinion, they would be good for what you're wanting them for.

I'm just saying there are a lot worse cues being made than KC cues.

try nielsons billiards on ebay, he can probably give you a great price on a couple of mcdermotts within your budget.

I don't think so.

Hal, I am usually pretty much in agreement with your posts. In this case I have to say you are offering up some pretty dangerous advise. While you might have got a KC that play okay, the ones I recieved and have seen I would not want to play with or give as a gift. I got the fancy sneaky ones with brass pin plastic insert, 3 different forearm nose wood kind. Not impressed. I was lucky to get rid of them in a lot sale.
In all honesty, I would put my offerings up against them any day of the week. :) JMVHO

Question to the original poster: Can't you get Chineese cues direct in Singapore?

Rackem's cues sound like just what you're looking for. Great entry level cues, better IMO than KCs. I picked up a KC just to check it out and wasn't impressed. The points vary by about 3/4" from longest to shortest, the ferrule isn't flush with the shaft, and the hit is ok, but isn't great. Rackem's cues cost the same or less last time I checked, and have better workmanship, and play fine (seems similar to a Lucasi).

You mean as in from China? We are located quite far apart, and my preference is still towards the few brands i mentioned.. but i thought an offer for j&j bushka replicas looked good :p

Anyway im negotiating a deal with Mr Varney, thanks for all the offers peeps!

I am sure you will be quite happy dealing with Kevin. He is one of the good guys. I just had to jump in, since I really felt KC was a bad steer.

Personally I would buy a Cuetec, lucasi, or Players, etc before I would buy a KC cue. It was just a suggestion. I was under the impression he wanted something real cheap for a beginner.
