hey, i got a friend who's looking to play a little more. he's a good guy who's paying for college so i told him i would try and help him find the best cue for the money. he said 60 is all he can really spend, so please none of the 'go ahead and spend the extra X for a X'

please let me know if anybody can do anything for a friend of mine. i figure this will at least keep walmart from selling another stick.

thanks again.

my .02...

...for that kind of money, your friend might be best suited getting a Player's brand cue off of E-bay. They usually go for 40-60 bucks, and they're new.

For the "Under $100" cues, they're just about as good as anything else, really.

Hope your friend finds what he's looking for.

Surf a few pawnshops and try to find a Joss, Meucci, McDermott, Viking, or Pechauer. If they are not too fancy, you can find them if you have some patience. Screw the cue together and roll it across the counter with the shaft perpendicular to the counter and hanging off the end. You will be able to quickly determine whether the cue is basically straight by the amount of wobble you see in it. I've bought many cues in the $40-60 range that routinely sell for $150-300. You can also pick up Players or Lucasi's, but I would rather the ones I listed above first.

Delay my last!!!

Didn't even think to go the pawnshop route. DEFINITELY a better chance of finding a cue that would make your friend content...for the time being.

Good call, cuenut.

As you said, no "save X hundred bucks". Those pawn shops are brilliant idea, also flEaBAY. But if your friend doesn't have a clue what he wants then it might be a worth of visiting local shop and shoot with some cues around 100 to 150 bucks; those are always available in his price range.

(honestly, i'd like to say that save 200 and buy a custom sp...but i'm not doing that since i'm close to broke myself)

KC cue

I have a new KC cue. If you're interested I'll let it go to a fellow AZ'er for $60 shipped USPS priority mail. I have two to choose from - burgundy 19oz or black 20oz. The cues are stained birdseye with a steel joint, 5/16-18 pin (I think), black with white specks linen wrap, 13mm, very nice ring work at A,B,C,D & E. As krbsailing said these are good cues for the money. I was really surprised at the quality and how solid they hit.

If your friend needs a case I can let him have a new 1x1 black hard case with pouch and strap for $25 (my cost) or a slightly used brown soft case with a small zippered pocket that has a plush sheep like lining (no chalk stains) for $15.

PM me if interested, Cory.

I've got a KC (used, honey stain) and a pair of new Axiom AX-23 cues (one natural stain, the other blue) I would sell for $60ea. shipped. Email if interested ralford@charter.net.
