Hi,

I suck at this game and normally play/hit alone without any purpose. I never played in league/tournaments - wanted to get to some level of confidence before doing so. I believe that certain level of fundamentals can be learned from being a "student" of the game.

I'm looking for recommendation of pool lesson DVDs or VCDs (and general pricing info would be helpful as well). Books are fine as well but no video tapes (don't have a player). Web links work too :D

And if you have something to sell, then PM me. I'm Paypal enabled and have done at least two transactions with AZ members.

Also, instructor recommendation for San Jose/San Francisco, CA area is appreciate it.

I highly recommend Jimmy Reid's 4hr DVD videos that you can pick-up on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=75195&item=7156489222&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I bought these and they cover everything from very beginner to very advanced. I've been playing for 20+ years and still learned a ton from these videos. They are on home burned DVD-R discs, and the video quality isn't the greatest, but who cares?.

Jimmy Reid covers stroke mechanics, proper grip/bridges, cue selection, various english spins, how to play the table, jump/masse shots, bank shots etc.

I have these 2 DVD videos and would sell them to you at a fraction of the cost they go for on ebay. I'm willing to set up an ebay auction with you as a pre-approved bidder, as long as you can guanantee you will purchase them. Let me know if you are interested.

DId you receive my PM? How much?
