Thank you for your question.
The X Breaker has a IPT version shaft.
According to IPT regulations, the tip has to be a "pure" leather tip. I went to meet with Deno personally to make sure that our legal IPT shaft was indeed legal. According to Deno, the total contact surface between the tip and the cue ball cannot consist of any phenolic.
The last thing we want to do is to sell a player a break cue just to find him disqualified from the IPT.
We have successfully designed a IPT legal version X Breaker for the IPT. It may well be the most powerful breaking cue with a leather tip on the market now.
Here are
some videos of Charlie Byrant breaking with his IPT legal
X347 limited edition X Breaker on the IPT.
The tip features on the IPT legal shaft has been specially treated and compressed, it is then installed on a specially designed ferrule.
Just to show how strong this special leather tip is, after Charlie made it to round 4 on the Reno IPT, the leather tip on his
X347 limited edition X Breaker still did not really mushroom.
Watch some of his break videos on the IPT and you would agree that the tip on his break cue had been subjected to some serious compression and impact.
This shaft is avaliable for $125. It will not fit the older version X Breaker. Please put down a note when you place your order so we can match the weight of both shafts for you to make sure your X Breaker will be balanced to offer you the best performance no matter which shaft you will be using.
Thank you very much for your interest.

Richard
