I was lucky enough to win one of two x347's that Richard & Charlie offered in their naming contest. Received the cue about 3 weeks ago so I apologize about the delay sharing what I found.
First, let me say I have been using a Mike Gulyassy SledgeHammer for the last 3 years and really liked it. Once I received the x347 I immediately went to the basement and broke 10 times with each cue. Then another 10. Once I got used to the difference in the balance and thinner butt on the x347 I found that it broke as well or maybe a little better than the Sledge' but had more cue ball control. Not a huge difference, but it was noticeable. I also might add that I love the way the Sledge' breaks the balls so by no means am I being critical of the x347...overall it broke a little better than the one I love.
The real difference I noticed was in the x347's jumping attributes. To me, it jumps with less effort, a great deal more control, with a great feel. I feel comfortable putting whatever spin I feel necessary for the shot at hand without worrying about miscuing.
With all that, I sold my SledgeHammer and am using the x347 exclusively. Believe me, I would have sold the x347 in a heartbeat if it did not out perform the Sledge'. ...And, I'm not associated in any way with Richard, Charlie, Billiard Concepts or the line of X breaker cues - this is only my opinion.
Thanks, again, to Richard & Charlie for selecting a portion of my suggestion & sending me this cue.
