Yellowing/aging of material in buttcap

Would a refinish help lighten the discoloring of the buttcap? Is there any way it can be brought back after this happens? This particular one is material Meucci used 25 yrs.ago.thanks for your help,Jim

I doubt if it is the butt cap material yellowing but the lacquer finish. Meucci cues are notorious for yellowing.

Dick is correct. It is the finish that has yellowed, not the material itself.
