Hello,

I am asking this to make conversation.

What do you think about leagues BCA and Valley where you play each player one game, where the player breaks and runs the rack.
I have seen leagues before (not BCA or Valley) give the incoming player a chance to tie that.

Or, do you just bump knuckles and say GG?

Thinking about this from the standpoint of home team breaks so many times, not that you lost a lag or a coin toss.

Bump knuckles and congratulate them. It all averages out. I enjoy it when someone plays well. Most BCA players are capped out of APA anyway or on the way to at least. I would rather play everybody on their team. Just realize that one rack really means nothing in the big picture. Its how you play all session that matters.

Ask the question this way…

If it were a race to three, winner break, and they threw a three pack on you, would you expect a “chance to tie”?

It is what it is.

However, it means a lot in the big picture. 3 people teams of 5 person teams, but much more in 3 person teams. 10 BNR goes to the round and overall score.

I played a league match consisting of 5 rounds one game against each of them once and had three BNR on my break and two runouts after they broke dry for a total score of 50-0 (BCA 8 Ball). It was all hand shakes and no hard feelings. Sometimes it leans the other way.

It's a time crunch thing so no don't change the number of games... however I don't think an ero by your opponent should count against your average in VNEA like it does now.. why does my average drop? I'm now a weaker player because he ran out?? I didn't even touch my cue.

In standard 5 person BCA teams, there is 25 games played. Home team gets 13 breaks, visitors 12.

It sucks being run out, but it doesn't happen that often in your average league... but I have seen people get ERO'd on 4 of their 5 games before!

I've also witnessed a player running all 5 of their games with 17 scores for an 85 (max possible in the 17 point system).

Best I've done is run 4 and won the other for an 81.

No, it's part of that format. Helped me to look at my results over a season. Week to week doesn't really matter. Lose a game/ team match, no problem. As long as my team and I finish high at the end of the season.
I tell them nice run! Bump it and reset for the next one.
While day to day this format can be mentally difficult, if you have a longer term goal for yourself over the season it becomes easier to bear.
