Zim,

Give us an update on life "after" the military. I'm not far behind you (April 07 I'm out) and want to know how you feel about your decision.

Thanks.

Life after the USAF... different, just different!

Since I've completed my enlistment with the USAF, I've been a little different. Getting use to the daily routines and structure of the AF was difficult, but so is not having those routines and structure. I'm still involved with the AF, but now as a spouse.
I'm attending Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville full time, working Zim's Rack Billiard Promotions when time permits and still trying to be a husband and father. Going back to school in a classroom environment after 11 years (graduated HS in 94') has been a little difficult. However, I feel that my life experiences from the USAF will benefit me a little more than other students. I believe I have a little more sense of security, more mature, better direction and a family to support and encourage me. I'm majoring in Elementary Education (K-7) and again, I think my life experiences will help me be a more rounded teacher to that level of children. I think I feel a little more pressure now than when I was in the AF.
Since June 2005, I've organized: 1) the Gateway Amateur 9-Ball Tour 2) Zim's Rack 8-Ball League and have made a few improvements to my business. I'm having a difficult time managing my time between school, homework, family and business. That is something that I need to fix fast!

Best of luck to you and your decisions Matt, don't give up! As they say, "the grass isn't always greener on the other side". That can be said from either side of the hill, take it for what it's worth my friend and enjoy. Stick with your choices and stay focused and don't lose track of time.

Timing was a little bad for me! I've been pretty busy lately. Come over to the Gateway Amateur 9-Ball Tour at Teachers Billiards in Fairview Heights, IL on October 8th.

Been awhile since I've visited the site. Congrats on going back to school, wish you luck with that. Hope all goes well.

Zim... SIU-Edwardsville is a Fluff College..So you shouldn,t have any problem sailing through! I know several Twits that Graduated with a solid B from there. Just show up for classes & take notes. Good Luck to You!
