The one that got away !

Just for a laugh I said to my son Johnny I wouldn't mind a quid on whatever round that Floyd 'Money' Mayweather.

I couldn't find a link to the fight so in a TKO situation,I went to bed .

I woke up to find out that Floyd 'Money' Mayweather went the distance and won the fight on points after 12 rounds .

Grasshopper say...

Tomaro is a new day so let's check the odds...:thumbup:

The night before the Final I said Johnny key up the stats for the World Snooker Final for me and I'll give The Correct Frame Score a go so this was what we looked at :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_world_snooker_champions

The number 8 just seemed to stick out and I thought right that's the way to go Ronnie to win 18-8 but you know what the Bookies are like and I will take it as the base and we either go up or down.I chose from 18-8 to Ronnie down to 18-5 but that was with the Bookies calling it a one sided Final and it was just for a laugh that I said I wouldn't mind a quid on whatever round Floyd 'Money' Mayweather wins and it was won in the 12th round so just to rub salt into the wounds I said said before day 2 of the Final begins what's the odds now for Ronnie and 18-12 and it was something like 5/1 or 9/2 at skybet I thought oh well if it come's up an 18-12 win for Ronnie O'Sullivan it's just going to have to go down as the one that got away and when Barry Hawkins knocked in that 88 break I just knew it was going to happen !:thumbup:

Boss Drum - The Shamen !

Ricky Walden 6 V 2 Barry Hawkins

Ricky Walden has advantage :

http://www.sportinglife.com/snooker/news/article/663/8686232/ricky-walden-has-advantage

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/snooker/22386595

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/snooker-walden-pulls-clear-hawkins-crucible-semi-213117107.html

Before this match started I thought Ricky looked a bit jaded in the Robert Milkins match and then he played young Michael White I thought , well he beat a newbie so...

Barry Hawkings has knocked out some top class players and I thought he is a worthy FAV in this match but every player seems to suffer a bad session in the Crucible but whoever took the lead in this first session in the battle between 2 players X 1 Table situation was alway going to boss the rest of the match so I guess right now I called this match wrong !

Tomorrow is a new day so you never know .;)

You better wake up Barry Hawkings or your 1 table situation debut at the Crucible will be over in a flash .

At this point I tried to send out some positive vibes towards Barry Hawkins and it must take a bit of getting used to the 1 table situation at the Crucible and when he made the Final he showed True Grit and gave it his all but he was up against the one and only Ronnie O'Sullivan in the Final who is the current Boss Drum in the modern day game.

Hat's off to Barry Hawkins as he made a battle of it and it wasn't the one sided Final that the bookies predicted . Well played to Barry Hawkins as not a lot of players would've take 12 frame off Ronnie O'Sullivan !:cool:

Hawkins: O'Sullivan is best player ever

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/video/hawkins-osullivan-greatest-time-194438477.html

When the Rocket is flying I bet his opponent sit's like the rest of us thinking how did Ronnie see that shot , play that shot , play that safe , clear up the table from the ball positions and how did he do it so quickly .

The answer is that Ronnie O'Sullivan is a genius at the game of Snooker so Barry Hawkins played excellent to take 12 frames in the Final .

Ronnie O'Sullivan coy on future

http://www.sportinglife.com/snooker/news/article/663/8696474/ronnie-osullivan-coy-on-future

Ray Reardon was 45 years old when he took his last title to become the oldest in the modern era so at 37 years of age Ronnie O'Sullivan has 8 years until then to break all the record.

Going by Ronnie's last two years at the Crucible every record is there to be broken. The thing is does he have the desire to do it and maintain the level of performance ?

I hope so because I think he can set all the records on this kind of form.

When John Parrott compared Ronnie O'Sullivan the wonder horse Frankel well I had a smile on my face and if you read my posts on Frankel the wonder horse you just know what I thought about that wonder horse .

Five Star Rocket 9/2 For Hat-Trick

http://www.racingpost.com/news/sport/five-star-rocket-9-2-for-crucible-hat-trick/1262666/top/

So when the party's over at the Crucible the next day I check the Racing Post web site for what them pesky Bookie's are saying . Thing's like that was the worst/best result in the book for us . I thought the bookies would be saying Ronnie's win was the worst result in our book as he was the housewife's choice like Lester Piggott but no , just more odds for next year . To send the odds for Ronnie from 8/1 in Feb to 6/1 best odds at the start of the event and to end up 1/8 in the Final tells me some high roller somewhere backed Ronnie for the title . They just ain't squealing !

So how come's Ronnie is 5/1 at Paddy Power ?

Oh that's right after the Racing Post print the article Paddy Power jump's in to offer 5/1 on Ronnie O'Sullivan for the biggest odds available but if you look at the Betting Zone article scratching your head at these odds they post for next years Championship at this stage !

A great thread, Church.
You and Scaramouche were terrific with the links.
..and you were waxing poetic pretty good also.

Dear Cashrider

Hey Church ...how much do PTC events pay or do players struggle along thru out the year hoping for the big payday at the Crucible...

And who is the best money player [read : hustler] in the U.K. ...you know undercover champions that dont play the big events they just clip the winners.....or are you fellows too "civilized" for such behavior on that side of the pond ?...wouldn't be sporting eh what?

Note taken Cashrider .

The PTC events as far as I'm concerned are short sprints that aint worth a bet but last year Ding seemed to come out top.

Next year is a whole new ball game and my advice is to avoid it as next season everthing in the Snooker World is changing and you might need PTC lotion to rub into your wounds ! ;)

Pleased to meet you on the thread !:cool::thumbup:
