I'm not disagreeing with you, just offering Buddy's viewpoint.
Coincidentally, I wanted my home table to be buckets. It's a GC with only the factory shims, no additional ones added. I want to build as much confidence and have as much fun as possible at home. Not beat myself up. Anyway, that was my reasoning on bucket pockets for home. Over a year later after having the table, I'd do it exactly the same way again."
I hear ya on the hitting the center pocket but it does matter in a skill test because if the ball doesn't go down, it costs you a point. I wanted my table to be as tight as possible to hone my game but not sure that's exactly what's happening.
