Video walk through of installing Simonis on a 7' Diamond

Jack, Do you you cover the rails with the cushion facing you? How do you keep the rails from moving around on you when you are pulling the cloth?

Video walk through of installing Simonis on a 7' Diamond

The camera I had on my chest was a GoPro. The one over head was a panisonic something, and I had 2 SJ400 cameras that are just knock off go pros as the cameras I moved around.

Yeah it took a bit of time, but hopefully the detail comes across and the monotonous stuff is passed over.

The little blocks are just spacers to keep the rail cloth up off the 4x6 blocks so the cloth doesn't get pinched in there when stretching the rail cloth and stapling it.

I like the new glue a lot. It seems to go farther than the 3M I have been using. That really wont matter to most people, but when you do many tables a year, getting a few extra per gallon adds up. I was able to to get 18 - 9' tables and 4 - 7' tables out of a gallon and could have probably...

I let the epoxy flow, it got in the feather strip channel, but I was rebuilding the rails, so I just recut it to remove the epoxy.

    I've got issues

I just did those side skirts, same table, its a thin veneer, can be sanded lightly until all the finish is removed, then stain/ finish how you want.

    refinish?

Its doable. This last pic is sanded down with 3 coats of clear epoxy, and 2 or 3 sprayed coats of lacquer. In this pic, finish needs to be rubbed out still.

    slow table speed gc3

I could be out on a limb here, but I think its the quality or lack there of, of the wood in the GC3 rails. In general the rails are much lighter weight, not as much rigidity behind the cushion. The small stamped out floating nut plates in most GC3s are inferior as well.

    sanding skirts

If I am taking the skirts all the way down to wood to refinish them I usually use a Stanley #80 Cabinet Scraper, or just a hand held cabinet scraper to take most of the finish off. This works well to cut through waxes, polishes and paint that normally clog sand paper really fast. After...
