I am looking to buy dymondwood if anyone has any they would like to part with. The more the better. It has to be authentic. P.M. me if you have some for sale. thanks
Alex has used many different types of cutters but the one I pictured seemed to be his favorite and most recently used. He had success with it cutting smooth which baffles me with the uneven blades. Good point with the suggested Whiteside cutter and how it screws on. I think I will try one and...
Not sure what the feed per inch is set at. From what Alex had it programmed for I slowed it down to 60% with not much improvement. I will check into what it is set at. As for the rpm of the lathe it is 450. (slowest it will go) Alex used to do all the cutting so I am learning as far as using...
Hello everyone... I have a question...I am using a 6 wing carbide cutter (drawer slot cutter). It is 2" diameter with a 1/4" shank. I have been getting the dreaded barber pole effect on some shafts. I tried slowing the feed down substantially...it helped a little. Then I ordered DMT Dia-Sharp...
Did you buy the tube or solid rod? Was it cloudy at all? I am trying to find something that would only need cut, sanded, and then buffed with several buffing compounds. The cloudy stuff I got would require a sealant to be absorbed in to it to use it. The old stuff I was using did not require this.
I am looking for some good DOUBLE-BLACK LINEN TUBE .625" ID x .906" OD
Before my mentor Alex passed away he had purchased some a while back that was really cloudy. I have also read here on AZ that others are encountering the same thing. I am getting down to the last little bit of the old good...
I can say that I did see this question coming..... No, I did not buy the sealer. I am an apprentice to Alex Brick (also son-in-law). He passed away not long ago and I took over with his work. I never had a chance to ask him what sealer he was using.
I have been doing linen wraps and I am getting low on the sealer for them. I 1st use starch and press the wrap. Then I hit with high grit sandpaper just a touch. Then apply a sealer. The bottle doesn't have a name on it and it doesn't look like the sealer came in that bottle either. I am about...
A little epoxy on the ends did the trick with my current application. I have some old dirty linen laying around. I guess I may have to put it to use sometime.
