    Savannah GA pool halls?

I may be in Savannah GA next Tuesday 23rd, can't seem to find any pool halls to pass the time, just some random bars with a table or two. Is this the case? Seems like an area that would have an actual pool hall not too far from it. Driving a couple of friends to a Mellencamp concert in town...

Pool travel for my year through Jan/March 2025

OK, maybe not "pool" travel, but work travel with pool  If anyone sees anything they know for local places/tournaments chime in please. Louisville will be my first trip to that state. (Myrtle Beach, SC) (Carmel, IN) (Maryville, TN) (Brooksville, FL) (St. John's, FL) (...

How do you picture the forum members looking like, if you have not met them?

There was a post Texas Carom Club did of holding his cue, it was not at all how I pictured him looking like, with a big-ass arm with a large tattoo LOL. Maybe because I see Carom players as skinnier guys in suits. Anyone have a built-in picture of what some of the regulars should look like...

Heading to Jacksonville week of 11th, any weekly tournaments aroud there?

Will be staying by the JAX airport for a week, Sunday - Sunday, from a maps search looks like Park Ave Billiards is the best place to shoot, but I don't see any tournaments on their Facebook page, just bands and other parties. Anyone local to the area know where to find a place to mingle with...

    Cue ID from reddit

Someone put this up on Reddit for an ID, looks to be from 60s/early 70s with some interesting features and a nice case. I am guessing more than some generic things from overseas. One of them seems to have ivory with a piloted ivory joint and a flared buttcap.

Great resource for Mezz cue models

Ran across some random web page while looking for a Mezz cue model, has one of the best catalog listings for cues I have ever seen. https://hobi-billiard.blogspot.com/2016/04/sejarah-stik-mezz.html

First Joss Tour stop on 7 footers

What do you guys think, good idea, interesting idea, mistake? This is about 45 mins from my house, nice place, clean, food is as good as any restaurant. I wonder why it was done though with several good rooms with enough 9 footers in the area like Snookers in RI and Yale in CT. Next Stop...

Interesting safety exchange between SVB and Deuel

Two top players maneuvering around two almost frozen balls stuck next to a rail. Who wants to note the foul(s) that happened if there was a ref there? Unfortunately, some of the shots they took were blocked.

    Small table with middle leg

Anyone seen a table like this before? Looks like a 7 footer, maybe an 8, but with a middle set of legs.

    Johnston City

Well, seems there is more than one. One of my upcoming work trips is taking me to Johnston City, NY. I thought, oh, nice I get to visit one of the most famed places in pool history. Nope. That one is in Illinois. Should have known a bit more about the location than just the city name I guess...

    Visiting the pool rooms

Enjoy snooping through my life :ROFLMAO: While I am not a gambler by any means, I love catching the vibe and character of the pool halls and people during trips. Don't know if anyone has looked in their map data (specifically Google Maps for me) to see the places they visit. You can see...

Resource for some older cue catalog pictures

Ran across this while looking for a possible older Mezz design, you can click though some of the links to get to catalog pictures of some brands, could be useful to ID things. https://www.moracues.com/J%20&%20J%20Cues/

    OB Carbon Shaft 12.3 Radial

Selling my OB Carbon shaft, great hit feel and taper but after trying another Revo, I play better with the Revo. I'd keep both but with another dozen shafts around it's a bit silly for me to. Has the interchangeable joint, Radial pin. I did have to use a bit of threadlock to keep it from...

    Issues with using ratings incorrectly.

Here is a poster from a local pool room that put a B+ player at a 600 and a B at 599. I don't know what they view the point difference, but to me the Fargo points tend to go by 100 for each level, so each -/even/+ is 33 points, given that Fargo states a player can play +-50 points normally, and...

Huntsville AL pool halls and tournaments

Flying out to near Huntsville, AL for work, will be around Madison. Anyone know the area for any weekly tournaments, hopefully mid-week? Will be there probably last week or two of July for about 4 days. I took a look on the maps online and seems like it's a pretty good area for pool, there...

Shafts in case, tips up or down?

I joined the /billiards Reddit not too long ago, and someone recently asked there if the tips should go down or up in a case. There were, to me, a surprising number of "tip down" replies and I was wondering if it's due to the posters there being younger and not very experienced players vs those...

Never ever try to change a tip while high.

So technically I don't know if the guy was on drugs while working on this Revo (mine that I sold to a friend), but I have no other explanation for this. The kid I sold this to decided to hand his CF shaft to some random guy he knew who said he replaced many tips. Result was this chop job...
