Another way to get the LD

We have been working on our own ferrule-less LD shaft and have been successful. Knowing there was a lot more to this type shaft than just gluing a tip on the end of some shaft wood, we experimented with several configurations until we got the desired effect. We use straight and tight grained Maple instead of laminates, and it works quite nicely. You can now get one for any CA$H cue,and any cue except those with a UNILOC joint. $250 each, matched to your ring work slightly more. Let's have a look:

A friend of mine has a Black Boar with a furrelle-less shaft and it plays lights out with very little cb squirt. I was very impressed.

Nice idea, "very interesting, Mr. Watson". Good luck with the new shaft, look forward to f/b from buyers.

have you guys field tested the shafts yet? I will be honest I would not buy an expermental as this seems to be,get some of the folks who should know,1 or 2 of the shafts and have them test market them and then I may be interested it may be well worth your while.I like the thought but like I said get someone to field test the shaft(and this is NOT a pitch for me as I would refuse to do it I am qualified enough)
Thanks'

Starting out at 250. a shaft

Looks great ,sounds good, but how are you going to get the word out - now lets see them in 3/8-10, 5/16-14. Are you saying you adjusted the taper in the shaft ? or is there a tenon under the red looking Pad? How about a Demo )sent to me in the Midwest- I'll pay half to be one of the first, definitely up here it will be the first. Thanks for any consideration, just trying to take it too a new ,or another level. mark

Our shaft is past the experimental stages, and is an option for either the 5/16-14 or 3/8-11 pin size we offer. Made for our cues and their owners exclusively.

Hey Tommy,
I have a cue from a very respected cuemaker and I have maple impregnated ferrules, very little weight, less deflection as well ;)
That provides an awesome hit. You can't break or jump with it but I just love it. Your option there looks interesting.

What makes this shaft worth $250? That's more expensive than any other low deflection shaft on the market.

Initially I would guess that the price is a little more because it is a solid shaft that is low deflection, rather than a laminated shaft. Also, the price is the price, the market will determine if it is worth $250, I know if I still was using a McDaniel cue I would purchase one to give it a spin.

Good luck with the new shafts, Tommy and gang.

It was designed and produced in USA ... as an OPTION or kind a UPGRADE for Cues out of the $Cue/Worldclass-SHOP ...... they dont produce them a 1000 pieces like TIGER/Predater/OB1 and so on .... so if you don't like the price you dont have to buy it ....... it's that simple isnt it ? ;)

That's a great question Shawn, thanks for asking. Before, straight and tight grain, tonal quality, and visual appearance were culling factors for a CA$H shaft. This design adds another category to the selection process that eliminates 90% of the wood we would normally use. A careful compilation of materials and labor was kept during the making of these and we arrived at that number.

CA$H cue owners would be willing to provide you with their observation as to our shaft quality, and overall quality of build and playability of our cues. You can find many in this thread:

We are aware many players today cut their teeth on a LD shaft, and wanted to provide them with a way to own a CA$H cue without the extra headache of acquiring an aftermarket shaft.

Hope this answered your question Shawn. Thanks for taking time to read the thread.

There are a few clarifications I need to make clear. If you have a fancy, inlaid shaft collar, the price will be commensurate with the design. I used a Champion tip on the shaft pictured, and it has a red fiber pad. Black fiber pads will be used unless a Champion tip is specified. Thanks

I wasn't being a dick or trying to sway business from them. It was a simple question. I can get a shaft from Samsara, who doesn't knock them off by the 1000s, or Rick Howard, who doesn't knock them off in the 1000s either, and I pay $125 per shaft. They, too, go through an extensive cull procedure to ensure good wood.

Tommy was nice enough to mention the reason for the pricetag. I merely asked a fair question. This is a free market, and the consumer has every right to ask why you think you deserve the price you ask for your product. 'Nuf said.

It was not thought as an offence in any way dude .. i was just telling my Opinion ... the askingprice for a item is up to the Maker (no matter which one or what kind of produkt).
