Sorry Sean, but its hard to take name calling because I would like to know why threads are deleted, and especially hard by guys that dont know me. I am passionate about cues, pool and many other things. I like golf:grin-square: and beer. But then the "industry" guy, whos 7ft 2 and has a propensity for sucker punching people, thinks they can call me names and think they got me pegged because I question a site that his LIFE relies on? Uh no, that dont work for me.
The other guy was troll, based upon the umpteen rep comments and pms I got about him being a tool, but a guy like JCIN who is a self proposed "insider in pool" throwing his 2 cents in by trying to call me a Nit lol...Wow....Im speechless
Sorry, just having some fun with a thread gone of the rails. Would this fall under job security

Lol, I gotta dmit thats funny. I posted an opinion on page one, and bascially stating what I would PREFER to happen before I pay even one red cent. Ive been screwed, friends have been screwed, certain people are allowed free rain. Then troll came in, I defend myself, then Andre the Giant came in, I defend myself. I will continue to do so when I have time. :thumbup:
I don't mean to sound preachy...but...
So you refuse to chip in to help the people who run this site, and will keep using it to enjoy/buy and sell, until you get exactly what you want? C'mon man, the people who run this site have given us something special. There may be little things here and there that you (or anyone else for that matter) don't agree with, but we can't lose sight of that main point. If you feel that strongly about the points that you mentioned, then why bother continuing to use AZ? Because it's an awesome sight full of awesome people and awesome resources that we probably couldn't get elsewhere. For that reason, brush off what little gripes you might have, and help out the guys that help us.
I see you have 97 transactions on your iTrader (probably more that you've forgotten to record). That's a more than decent number of transactions that we're made possible because the people here have given you a place where you can do that, to buy, sell, and try out whatever pool related stuff you wanted to. Let's give a little something back
I think that its a great idea. BUT and it s a big BUT, a few things have kept me away from doing this. No 1, it seems as though no matter how many times some SELLERS are reported for over bumping, it is overlooked. Yes, they are THE SAME guys who do it, and NO, nothing ever happens to their threads.
Good forbid and new seller, or I (proverbial I), post twice within 48 hours, (even to had pics once) and we are reprimnanded like a 4th grader.
The 2nd thing, and probably the BIGGEST one that keeps me from giving this site a dime, is the mystery of the dissapearing threads. Just because a cuemaker knows people or a seller knows people, doesnt mean they havent screwed someone over. UNLESS it can be PROVEN that they didnt, all that info should stay on the site.
Multiple VARNEY, WHEAT, ***SHOWMAN***, LAMBROS and many many others (those are just the ones I remember off the top of my head) dissapear? Magically
No mention of what happened or anything. If it gets harsh, or heated or people are cussing....DELETE THOSE POSTS. Dont erase the whole thread. Makes no sense and there is ZEROOOOOOOOOOO Legal reason for that to happen (believe me I know
I am not saying there arent cases of bitter customers, or the normal trolls that try to get a response or rise, but WHY do the powers that be, automaticaly believe the cuemaker, or the cue dealer or however.
There are guys who sold fake cues in the past (buskas or botis), sold stolen cues, lied to customers, stole money from people, and many other bad things......YET these guys buy a membership or know the owners or mods and they get free rain on everything.
ALSO, I have no Problem giving money to be a "SELLER" or paying some fee, but when certain pyschos are allowed to be banned multiple times, be rude, be cray cray, always argue and cry and complain like a 3 yr old I will have a hard time donating to that medium. And there are MANY others in the same boat

I do think the fees are ultimtely a good idea because alot of people, including me, have made money from this site and used it to sell goods when really we had no other way to do it. I will be the first to pay if I get some reasonable explanations to my concerns.

Know what I noticed on this thread which was doing fine for awhile........several AZers hijack the thread for several pages with their bullshit banter back & forth bickering like some high schoolers in the parking lot calling it each other out.........OMG.....GET OVER IT.
This thread is supposed to become filled with membership posts saying that the AZer was pleased to upgrade to a gold membership for the welfare of the Forum. Instead, there are now pages of verbal exchanges attacking one another.......KNOCK IT OFF.
Fer cryin' out loud, can't you let a thread that's intended to help the Forum, and in turn each and everyone of us, exist within making it about your petty, personal dislikes and issues..........Please try behaving like adults or take your shit to a PM exchange and immunize everyone from your fight with one another.
Look, I know it's tempting to react immediately but maybe wait 24 hrs to think about what you write. Don't conduct personal arguments on the public Forum and if you are, do it by PM and if someone writes something that conflicts with the Forum's rules, forward the Mods a copy of the person's PM and they'll deal with the offending AZer. I know it works because I got an official warning a year ago over my unsurly behavior towards another AZer who was being just as rude an discourteous to me iwith his PMs......but the lowlife reported me to the Mods first and so I got hammered and he didn't even though he started it and wrote more offensive PM messages..
My point is nothing good will ever come out of battling in public on the Forum. Do your self a favor and stop doing it and at the same time, you'd be doing all of us a favor as well. There are probably a couple of dozen, or more, AZers that can't dislike and resent me......maybe that number could be in the hundreds..........I dunno & don't care..........but I will do my best to adhere to the Forum rules and invite you to join me.

You rail on about all the shit you own, your rich wife, going to cue shows and buying the beer, liking cues that start at $4000 and go up then get all whiny about shipping $50 to a site you have done over 90 deals on.
That sir is literally the definition of nit.
Its like the guy who goes into a pool room for a $1000 added tournament but will not spend any money because the owner was mean to him that one time he was drunk.

Matt, Ill try not to make this as long winded as EVERY post youvbe made in your life but, I like this site, I use this site. I ENJOY it less everyday because people cant read. I made a comment as to why I will have a hard time paying for a memebership. I have been screwed by members that the site owners put on a pedastal by obvious removal of "bad deal threads" involving a handful of said makers. Got it? OTHERS derailed and started name calling, which is a punishable offense? Not allowed to do that right?

Again, reading is key and its not just you. I dont necessarily refuse? I have morals, and when people (the owners hear) BLATANLY cover up crimes, and wrong doings I have a problem in turn GIVING them money when sideways asking for it.
I lost thousands a few times, and never said a word here cause it was between me and them. THEN OTHER PEOPLE who were screwed by the same guys, come forward and start threads, they are covered up. Coinsidence? I dont know, but it sure is weird, that some pyschos are allowed to break the rules multiple time, defame people, start trouble and yet give the owners something and all is forgotten.
Yet I or many others post added pictures to a sales thread within the 48 hr time and it gets deleted
Is that fair?Its not a matter of whining or anything. I could care less if I ever sell another cue here. I have friends here, and I socialize with them. Ive met MANY people here who have stayed at my home, gambled with, bought dinner with, met my wife and kids....and a few of my BEST friends I met here asking to buy a Southwest one day many years ago. I will support this place, but I need to know a few things first.
Thats all my original post was about, nothing more, nothing less.
bottom line:
the owners/mods of az don't *owe* any answers or anything else, for that matter.
they have come up with the biggest and best pool site in the world. :thumbup:
there are some flaws, as would be expected.
you have apparently managed to work around those few flaws very nicely doing approx. 100 deals on here. although there is no way to tell whether or not these deals were of benefit to you, my sense is that they were.
I think it's a-ok to vent and tell what you don't like about az.
but when someone, like yourself, has *taken* as much as you have from this site, then the correct thing to do would be to answer the call when AZ asks for your help.

Ken let me make it simple for you.
I made a DVD in 2009-2010 (I forget when) of a cuemaker who is also a friend of mine. I don't keep tabs on how he runs his business. I still don't know how he runs his business. If he screwed people people over that is bad. I don't know that he did.
Both he and and his customers are adults. If he acted as bad as you seem to think then there are lots of avenues for people to use to get satisfaction. None of that has anything to do with me filming a shop tour and interview of the guy years ago.
Go ahead and link me to where I am promoting John Showman in any way shape or form other than posts where I state my opinion that his work is world class. I realize thinking rationally is difficult for you and you have a fetish for messing with me whenever the opportunity arises but in this case as usual you are simply wrong.
I realize the concept is foreign to you Ken but I have a whole lot of friends. I also do a lot of things that have nothing to do with pool. Between those two factors I do not keep up on many things that do not concern me directly.
For some reason you keep throwing up this insider thing like its a slur. Its pretty funny. There are lots of things I dont know about. The difference between you and me is that when thats the case I keep my mouth shut.
