Billiard University (BU) playing-ability-exam scores and ratings

Dave, what do you think about adding to your list and not just putting the total score, but the score of each test? Would that be too much work to bother with? I think it would be nice for people to compare how they did on each test with others instead of just both tests.

I agree that this would be useful to see. I wish I had done this from the beginning ... it would have been easy to do. When I can find some time, I will start going back through all of the old posts to extract this info. It would help me a great deal if everybody would re-post their Exam I and Exam II scores for the totals currently on the list.

Looking back through my score sheets, I have an 88 on fundamentals, and a 69 on the masters. The 69 wasn't a video'ed one.
edit: the 88 was on video. My score you have listed would then be a 66 on video on the masters.

I did a 10-ball-rating-drill set yesterday and beat my best score to date (74). Here it is:

I had my break working fairly well, pocketing a ball every time, but there is still room for improvement (e.g., I need to get rid of the left sidespin that happens often). I pocketed 5 balls on the break once (the 2nd rack)! I also pocketed 3 balls on the break twice and 2 balls three times. That sure makes the run-outs (or attempted run-outs) easier.

Now my goal is to beat the 10-ball ghost, which I still haven't done (even though I can routinely beat the 9-ball ghost). I really should have done it this time, but I made several careless mistakes (e.g., scratched on 10-ball shot, was careless with position a few times not finishing the stroke on draw shots or hammering the CB on touch shots).

Anybody out there working on the BU Exams?

Got new cloth on one table just recently.
Tried today first time your BU exam doctorate(just did try once every drill) I have to get some white donuts and I will try whole exam then.
I liked Banks and safety most because they were sure challenging.

I dedicated about 6 hours yesterday to trying to improve my Exam II score. The best I could do was one point better than before (72 to 73). Here's the new video:

Billiard University (BU) Exam II - Masters level - 73 - by Dr. Dave - 2/2016

I missed an easy safe and an easy kick, and I gave away 2 points on the break, which I normally have no trouble maxing out.

I am determined to get a perfect score on the Masters-level Exam II. It is good practice, and the challenge is fun.
