Nobody in the USAF PAO office would say that because they even BS each other.
PAOs are paid "spinners". They are nothing more than "Sham WOW Specialists!". They will say WHATEVER the BOSS says or what "sells"...it isn't necessarily the TRUTH in ALL matters.

What are you trying to get at here, Lou? I'm not recommending any course of action nor am I condoning what I believe to be Barry's likely course of action.
I'm simply stating that to assume that anyone will come on this forum and try to explain anything is unreasonable. Maybe yes and maybe no.
Barry cannot lose any credibility since he has none. What he can lose, however, is his sanctioning and in that eventuality we might not see a field of this quality for quite a while.

Yes what is the con? "Added" money not added? What a surprise. Or something else? I really find it hard to believe people refer this tournament as a "U.S. Open" when nobody can even scare up a 1/2 dozen decent minor sponsors to guarantee the prize fund. Did more than 10 "pros" break even after reasonable expenses?
Its not even added money not added is it? I think it's more like added money not added on time due to inaccurate projections.
Ultimately it is his faulty projections that give this tournament more prize money than what it otherwise would have isn't it? Are the players dumb for playing in this tournament? I don't think so. The way I see it this is very similar to playing a guy who you know is firing an air barrel but you also know it is good action and the money is likely going to be paid, just paid late.
While his way of run ing the event certainly isn't what I see to be professional, I wouldn't exactly call it a con.

That plan will never work.
Not because it's entrapment, but because Barry would have to use the payout money
to pay his legal bills, which would delay the player payouts until the 2020 US Open.
