I was wondering if BBC or BBC America would be covering the World Snooker Championships in the states this year?

I have been watching tons on youtube and have such a bug for snooker that it isn't even funny.

Any insight that you guys could give would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Probably not. North American coverage of the WSC has traditionally been provided by CBC in Canada, which hasn't happened in a very long time.

Your best bet is to watch it online.

What online options do I have?

We all watched it live last year, just keep checking in here when it starts and somebody should figure it out. Last year was the first time I watched the Worlds live since 1996. Very cool for me to see that monster Ronnie tearing it up live!!

It was the first time I ever watched the Worlds live and it was great fun. Even better was watching a 147 happen live TWICE.

There are a variety of places on the net where either BBC or Eurosport feeds may be available. The most like spot is

Links to the Championship League play have been posted there.

I connected my computer to a Sharp HD TV and have watched the Welsh Open and Championship League live.

Colours are a bit washed out, and it is best to watch directly in front of the screen. Not HD picture quality, but quite acceptable.

Used a splitter on the VGA monitor connection and the VGA input connection on the TV. The TV also has a DVI connection. My computer has a S output, but the TV (which has an S connector) will not accept the computer video output (no computer provision on that input menu on the TV.)

The posters in the NPR section were most helpful.
