Stick-n-Stein in Key West is the only pool room I know of in Monroe County. Some bars with tables but nothing great. If ya go to the Stick in Key West, tell Farah Big Poppa Bear sent ya <EFG>

I def will thanks Ill take a peak. I am staying in islamorada and have noticed the lack of a good pool room there used to be a bowling alley called fish bowl that had some old old gold crowns pretty beat up but hey beggars cant be choosers.

Let us know what it is like now.

It has been quite a few years since I was there But it was a real cool place.
It was opened after hours. I just remember some kind of cool free pool after normal hour deal. How could you go wrong. It was always my last stop.
Big parking lot. I could just kick it in the in the camper when I was done.
Oh those were the days.
I also remember the owner had quite a cue collection.

I just remembered a place between Islamorada and Marathon called the Whistle Stop...on the Atlantic side <left going south>. Had some 8'/9' tables that where ok for the keys. The Keys historically are not known for their top shelf pool. The saying goes;

The Keys, a drinking community with a fishing problem.

Good luck,
Voo

I lived in Key West for 2 years from 97'-99'. Didn't play much pool while I lived there. I went to Stick and Stein a few times but never noticed many players or action in there. There is enough fun to be had on that island that you won't even think about pool while there.

I'm stationed in Islamorada... the tables at the fish bowl are nine foot gandy's but I think they suck, Whistle stop is just barboxes and I'm not a fan. There is an 8 ball tourney there ever tuesday but the same guy always wins it Steve something shoots with a southwest. Pool just doesn't seem to be a big factor down here at all.

I also lived in Key West, from '01-'02. I recall a bar table or two in Key West, but not much serious pool. I wasn't playing much then myself, so I wasn't looking out for it.

Anyway- if you need restaurant or bar recommendations, let me know.

USCG Sta Islamorada?

I have never noticed any decent tables in the Keys, have hit many a bar and noticed a box or two.

In the Keys I like to bring a real sharp cue. These were speared from @ 4 miles east off Marathon in January, near & just after diving the Thunderbolt wreck. Blackened, fried or grilled?

Sorry to see you leaving the Guard. I haven't come across many Coasties who could play pool in my 12 years in. Not to mention the guard is always hurting for good FS's, (I looked you up in the global). Best of luck out there.

who said i could play pool. lol :D Yeah I had to get out I just don't feel like living on a 378 again. if I had picked any other job I would have probably stayed in i picked the worst one. It was an experience though. O well the new GI bill is a good bargin with the e5 with dependent BAH you get while going to school.
