To change the Perception about Billiards

Two things that can change the way billiards is perceived.


#1, "All Ball fouls" will eliminate all those ball movement discussions constantly happening during matches. Maybe even speed up the total time of the matches.

#2, "Referees"
Where are the players that know the game and the rules when you need them?

What rules do you enforce? World Standard Rules? I keep finding out that a lot of the players don't know these rules.

Europe and the rest of the World has accepted and embraced the need for referees at the regional, national and international levels.

Why can't the USA follow that lead?

i do miss playing everything is a foul. but these days it would probably just increase the "ball movement discussions" you are reffering too. or arguments about touched balls that werent touched.

The problem I have with All Ball Fouls is that, without a ref present, you're in for even worse arguments than Cue Ball Fouls Only, IMO. For example, if you're leaning over the table and the guy says, "hey your shirt touched a ball; that's a foul", you're put in a very tough spot of deciding whether to take their word for it, or to look like a big jerk by saying, "sorry pal, I didn't see it nor feel it; doubt goes to me since I'm the shooter and you didn't call a ref over to watch."

With a ref present, I'm OK with All Ball Fouls. Without a ref, I'm for Cue Ball Fouls Only, unless it is commonly understood in pool that shirt fouls, etc., will only be enforced when a ref is brought over.

All Ball Fouls is used in a couple of bars in my area and it really doesn't work well in such a setting, IMO.
