Would you like to watch it LIVE??????

If you've ever wanted to watch one of these great competitions LIVE AND ONLINE, there is a good chance you could actually help make it happen! (edited: It HAS been confirmed and Ray is already on his way to Maryland!)

Ray (Bigtruck) is trying to raise the funds to travel to stream the event. He said he will entertain pledges to see if it is feasible to plan going. Your contribution could put a historical marker on the map of time... putting artistic pool competitions on live stream!

Ray said he needs to raise at least $1400 to go. If you can help, whether it's $10 or $50 or $100, shoot him an e-mail at akabigtruck@gmail.com with a pledge for that amount, if he goes. (edited: Some funds are still needed. Check out the updated ChipIn widget at http://bigtruck.chipin.com/artistic-pool-travel-fund-2 )

Remember -- the dates are the 19th-22nd of NOVEMBER. This means we have little time to raise the funds, so pledge now!

Tell everyone to come help out and let's send Bigtruck to Maryland!!

Anybody could stream this video for em.... a blackberry phone can live stream...

Can a blackberry give you the same kind of pic you get from some of these professional streamers and add the commentary and the chat room? If there are any issues with the stream or the chat room, can you handle them okay with the blackberry? Can the blackberry handle a few days worth of almost constant streaming and keep a quality picture, too?

If you're blackberry is so great, why haven't you already done this? We've wanted to see the artistic pool competitions online for a good while, now. By the way, we'd probably like to sponsor many of the streams and we want a good slide show for our money and possibly even a banner ad and a link on the stream's main website, too.

Oh yeah.... Are you going to be there, already, or are you willing to pay all your own travel expenses, including motel, vehicle and gasoline, or bus/plane trip, toll road, food for the trip, etc.? For a few days of professional work, I think $1400 is a great price, considering we take a similar amount of time for the Super Billiards Expo and with all the discounts and everything that I manage to pull out of my hat, we do good to stay under $2000.

Not to knock the blackberry, but there is no substitute for a good stream with a person who has a quality streaming history behind the camera.

I am not a streamer, but I do take offense to your comments aimed toward belittling the hard work, expensive equipment and the knowledge these guys put into their live streams. They are professionals and they do a fine job. They do this on a regular basis and are not just casual videographers. We have been involved with and/or sponsored live streams for a year or more and have watched these gentlemen become well-known and appreciated for their quality streams. There are thousands of folks who will vouch for Ray's credibility in the live streaming world, as they would quickly vouch for a few others, as well.

Sooooo typical of the way people think

Anybody could stream this video for em.... a blackberry phone can live stream...

I swear man I ain't knocking ya but it is amazing how people think about
live streaming. Anyone with a camera and a laptop can do it . Right ??My prayers
are that the good streamers out there like Ray and myself can raise the
bar and give pool the good coverage it deserves in a manner that is far
beyond what a well meaning person with a black berry or whatever can
dare bring.

I currently have commitments from 3 advertisers for this show, getting us really close to making this happen!!

I will talk to Tom today and see if we can confirm!

Thanks

I'm suprised he didnt place in one place in the other artisitic cup.. he just got "best runnerup voted by the people" or something..

anyways hopefully he can place in the bracket so he leaves with a trophy!

You can also sponsor a company's ad on my show! This is a way to contribute to both the show and a pool related company.

Let's get the Artistic Cup covered!!! We are really close!

I still have room for 5 ads!

Thanks!

I've been busier than I thought I would be, today. I'll get more info on this event posted in a little bit. I have to give grandkids their baths and get them to bed, first.

Venom got the sportsmanship award voted on by the players. I've never been to any of Dr Cue's events, but the results tend to be hard to predict. The difficulty of the shots aren't as high as for an Artistic Pool and Trick Shot Association (APTSA) event and the 7-ft tables also help play as an equalizer. This tends to instill parity in the rankings, which is what Dr Cue is going for. Dan Taylor won last year's event over many of the more serious/competitive players on the APTSA, so anyone has a chance.

Good luck Bigtruck. Hope you get the contributions you need. It would be great to see some of this as it happens.

I have never seen this particular competition, but I assume it is very exciting, as most are. It does sound like there could be a few complications in the changeover from one level of competition to the other, but I"ve heard good things about it, nevertheless. As with all tournaments, no two are alike.

We are thrilled that artistic pool will finally be online. A year ago, we set our goals on doing what we could to really help the first major artistic pool event that goes online. Here it is and here we are, supporting it! We are glad to be involved. (I can't believe it took a whole year to make it happen, though!)

Skip the Bump, we're doing the Hustle, tonight!!

Thanks to the continued support from Royce Bunnel at OB Cues, Cue & A Promotions will be covering all the action in Laurel Maryland at The Bank Shot Bar & Grill at this year’s Dr. Cue Classic Artistic Cup III on November 20, 21,& 22. I will also be covering the exciting and magnetic Cue-Dean-E International Talent Search on the evening of November 21st.

In addition to OB Cues making this possible, special thanks also goes to Crown Cues, Billiard Bush’s Cue it Up, and Delta-13’s aerospace designed racks! All of these advertisers in addition to the support of many fans is making this a reality!!

Please tune in at www.ustream.tv/channel/drcues2009 on the Bigtruck Show. The show is FREE to all! We will attempt to broadcast live if bandwidth allows, otherwise the show will be recorded and broadcast in it’s entirety at a later date. If you would like to contribute to this show and future events please go here http://bigtruck.chipin.com/artistic-pool-travel-fund

Thanks everyone for your support!!
