thinking of going to a OB2

Ob's are a step down from predators in my opinion,, The feel is what intrigues most,,
obs cushion blow during contact due to the density foam installed within OB ferrules, is dead feeling.

I own both ob's and predators,, obs due deflect more ,and are harder the get english with then predator..

Id say no to ob-2 ,, unless you like a stick which forces you to compromise the tagent line and gives no feed back at the point of contact ........

Do you use a z2?

I need to make a decision here soon between the universal smart shaft, the ob 2, the z2, and the hybrid pro.

Personally, I like predator and I know many that use the z2. But fact remains that it's produced in china and nothing need be said on the cracking issue.

I started using an old sneaky pete i've had sitting in my closet for over a year now because the shaft on my players is simply gone. Hits like a piece of plastic now and I just don't have the confidence to even use the damn thing anymore.

Sucks to because it has a beautiful butt that gets people "ooing" and "awing" whenever I break it out.

I bought an OB-2 just out of curiosity, but I didnt like it. I use a Z-2. I wouldnt put the OB-2 down though, its just not my preference(too stiff, too soft a hit for ME).

i currently use a predator 314 2. for about 2 years. i adjusted to the low deflection within days. but i never got the feel for my touch shots back. i hear the ob2 has some feel to it. im not crazy about the 11.75 tip. but im sure i could get used to it. i hear the ob1 has more deflection than the 314-2, and i guess the 314-2 is compareable to the ob2.

try the ob-2 and the ob-1 before you buy either. the hit of the ob-1 is very different from the hit of the 314-2. the ob-1 has a much softer hit and is a whippier shaft. i think the ob-1 deflects slightly more than a 314-2 (a friend of mine and i compared my brand new 12.25mm ob-1 to his old 314-2 which barely had any tip left on it). the hit of the ob-2 is closer to the hit of a z-2 and a 314-2 than the hit of the ob-1, because the ob-2 is a stiffer shaft. the hit of the ob-2 still feels "cushioned" in comparison to the hit of the z-2, because the vibration absorbing foam pad goes through the entire length of the shaft (the predator shafts only have the first 8-10 inches of the wood core removed).

i bought a 12.25mm ob-1 because 1) i like the very soft hit/feel 2) i like that it's whippy and not stiff and 3) the ob-1 is more forgiving if your stroke is not perfect. that being said when i get my stroke to be very consistent at all speeds i will probably switch to playing with the ob-2. i don't like the "ping" sound that predators make or the fact that when i hit the ball with them (in comparison to the ob shafts) they feel more like i'm hitting with a piece of wood that doesn't have a tip on it.

The "cue-ball" squirt is very low with the OB-2 shaft.
