Heya guys,

Long story REAL short...I've got a coworker of mine hooked on the game!! :)

He's a great guy, loves to play, and has some fairly solid fundamentals. He really wants a cue of his own, but can't afford it.

I'd like to pick one up for him as a gift, and surprise him with it on our next trip out (which is coming up soon).

That said...I can't swing much cash, myself. I'm looking for a VERY budget-conscious Joss or McDermott cue at or around the 19oz range, and preferably a full 13mm shaft (or close to it). A soft case to go with it would be a HUGE plus...he doesn't have one of those, either.

Anybody out there got a straight and solid cue they can turn loose for a fair price? Not interested in anything over $125-$150...tops.

Thanks much in advance.

Mark

i have a blue mcdermott i could sell you for $125. the butt is in good shape but the shaft has some dings and dents, and needs a tip. it is strait though. also, it needs a weight bolt, as there is not one in it. they cost $5 at mcdermottcue.com and he could make the stick whatever weight he wants. I have a mcdermott hard case i can give you with it.

Hey Mark, I've got a EF6 and a D-10 both in that range. The d-10 shaft has a wobble in the shaft and ef6 is straight. I've got a old box case I'll through in with either.

McDermott Cue

I have a nice used McDermott cue that will fit the bill. It has no nicks or dings in the shaft. There is only one small chip in the clear coat in the butt which is about the size of a pencil eraser. It is a light maple cue, no wrap, nice points and a few small inlays. Has the slightest roll but certainly nothing that would effect the play of the cue. Comes with a case and I'll throw in a couple of pieces of masters chalk. $100 shipped anywhere in the USA. PM me your email address if you are interested and I'll send a couple of photos. Can ship on Monday if I get confirmed payment with Paypal.

Once more to the top. Would like to buy one by C.O.B. Monday...and get it shipped on Tuesday.

In a perfect world, I'd like to surprise him with it this coming weekend.

Thanks much,

Mark

I am a little confused because you can get brand new mcdermotts in that price range new on ebay with 'buy it now.'

i guess a lot of it depends on whether or not you want a wrap, points, etc.

This cue for example should be a very good deal, in your price range. I have a blue one of this model that i used for years and loved it.

good luck

Hiya sir,

No cause for confusion. I'm looking for a good deal on a nice McDermott or Joss cue. I don't like buying off of e-bay...and I've been around the boards long enough to have established relationships with lots of folks...and the necessary trust to go along with it.

I figure $125-$150 could get a nice linen wrapped McDermott or Joss cue...maybe with a tiny bit of flair to it...from somebody here. I'd rather get more bang for my buck, stay away from e-bay, and do another deal with an AZB member.

Thanks much,

Mark

I am picking up a brand new McDermott tonight. It has the "Professor Cue Ball" logo below the wrap. I will get pics as soon as i can. Google paul frankel or professor cue ball to see his logo.

Stick is straight and unchalked

Mark, I recently bought a mcdermott that has a wrap and floating points. Pm me with an email address and i'll send you pics. 409-454-1365
