Curly Maple Break Cue by Mitchell Thomas.

This cue is 59" (even split) Highly figured Curly Maple with Maple/Wenge accent rings. The Phenolic collars are that older shade of brown. The cue has been test hit, but looks new. The pic should do the talking. It's a looker!

The shaft weighs 4oz and has a modified 10 inch Pro Taper. It is just a hair stiffer than the playing shafts.

Old style 3/8-10 flat face joint. Phenolic Ferrule is 13mm

There is a place for a weight bolt of your choosing in the butt. It can weigh between 13oz and 16oz or so. (the butt, not the bolt) ;)

Just got off the phone with Mitchell, the cue is not cored. It is solid throughout and is 1 piece. He told me that all of his 1 piece cues like this are made from wood that has been hanging for several years. They are cured well so there shouldn't ever be any warpage problems.

Also the ferrule is 3/4 of an inch.
 
Would it be possible to get a playing shaft for this cue as well? How much extra would that be, with matching ringwork?

I can have you a shaft made to any specs you want with matching rings for an extra $75 :eek::eek:

If you spend an extra $100, you can have matched rings and the best hitting LD shaft in the world instead of the break shaft. You might like a hand spliced LD shaft that doesn't feel hollow, I know I do. Come on 12mm and extra stiff taper :wink:

thanks for your help with the pics and I am sure you will love your first custom. I'm glad I got to help design it. Now if I could just find some easy way to upload the 300+ pics of wood you took :p
