Your Favorite Cuemaker/Repairman

Paul Fanelli: true perfectionist and ever-so-accomodating repairman; flawless leather wraps, excellent tip work...and the meanest butterfly cues this side of the moon.

Skip Weston: what can I say? I'll probably end up owning a dozen of his cues.

Well I for one LOL! hate to say it but Ted does a good job! the problem with him is he can't be trusted with taking your cue out of your sight!
Steve Lomax here in Atlanta, has done 3 cues for me and I am getting ready to give him my most prized Palmer to cleanup and retip and wrap, all of his work thus far has been reasonably priced and well done!

Bobby Hunter.......

I have to say Bobby Hunter- He is an absolute perfectionist. His work is always top quality, or he will throw it in the trash. If he puts a tip on, or does some shaft work for you, it's like he's doing his personal cue.

Where is he located?

I always go to Paul Fanelli. He has retipped a few of my cues and has rewrapped one of them. He does great work and hes a real nice guy as well.

Ted Harris and Paul Fanelli are very good. A couple of my friends swear by Rick Phillippi and if you don't catch him early enough during the SBE you'll be SOL unless you want to leave your stuff with him and have him send it back to you via mail.

I just happen to go back to Barry Szamboti because he's only a half hour away. When he retips a shaft he does both at the same time regardless of what shape the other one is in. He does this because he wants both tips to be relatively the same hit (he does that scientific bite-test thing). Then he cleans up the shafts and seals them.

Your rants about Ted Harris are getting old. Just pointing that out. Keith Josey is located in Savannah,Ga (pretty close to you) and he does excellent work. He is also a very nice, honest man.

UH, Ms Stray bullet, I think if you had lost a valuable cue you would not consider asking the cuemaker to return it as a rant ! but then since he hasn't obviously taken anything from you ...............

actually I thought I was being honest about his ability to perform the work! and letting folks know not to leave that work with him!

I must concur with jlbell. if you are in the west tennessee area and want the best cue repair,go to tommy davidson in union city. he just put an ivory ferrule on my espiritu and it is perfect! there are many people around here who give me there shafts to take to tommy to get tips or just a good cleaning. as far as cue repair goes, he does AS GOOD A JOB AS ANYBODY! i know some of you may not believe it but it is true!

Oh quit with the attitude. I understand the problems you are having with this guy, you've gone on and on about it, we get the point already. You are doing this on 3 different forums and its hitting the overkill stage. Take him to Judge Judy or something and get your cue back. Bashing him every day on all the forums isnt getting your cue back any faster, is it? I had the same problem with a necklace. I know its frustrating, but there are other ways to deal with this situation. I passed along the name of a very respected person (Keith Josey) and you'd be doing yourself a favor by trying to call him. Keith might also be able to talk to Ted and help you out.

The apple didn't fall far from the tree. Barry Szamboti is my personal favorite. He learned from the best. Fred McCann

I've had my cues retipped by a few different cuemakers, had minor work done, such as rewrapping or shaft tapering/cleaning, etc. The one I always go back to is Joe Porper. I've hit with a couple of his cues, and every one I've hit with, I liked the feel and balance, with good feedback in the hit. I've known Joe for a couple of years, and the guy really put alot of effort in everything he does. One time he put a tip on my cue, it turned out to be defective and it delaminated after using it for a couple of days. I had a tournament the following day before it delaminated, and I went to his shop, and although he was very busy with work, he put aside a few minutes to retip my cue, and he didn't charge me a dime. I tried to pay him and he wouldn't accept it. Sometimes I might hang around at his shop for a while and watch him work. I am amazed at how much he cares about even the tiniest of things.

Since there have been some threads about bad cuemakers, I thought I'd mention a great one. The guy sure is a pleasure to be around, extremely down to earth and he doesn't bullshit around, gets his work done and takes care of his customers.

Very simple to answer........Mike Webb and Joe Blackburn....cannot go wrong with either one.............................mike

Repairs

Mike Webb just completed some repair work for me and the work exceeded my expectations.
In addition, Mike was honest, very polite and completed all the work within a week including the shipping time (door to door).

Great service and highly recommmend!

Harry Richards is my favorite travelin' man with a lathe <beside myself, lol> Pete Ohman of OMEN cues gets the nod too...never need to worry bout either of their work, ever!!

It's my understanding that you STILL have a cue that you have refused to pay the person for, so isn't this a little hypocritical?

I made a subtle hint, which you got a few weeks ago and to date, there still has been no resolution.

Mr Rosco perhaps you would be better served speaking on subjects that you are better informed ! (translation !!! if you do not know what you are speaking about then do not speak!) ;) If you need any further clarification PM me as you should have done in the first place!

I am well informed as of 36 hours ago, unless something has changed in that short amount of time. I just find it humorous that this situation is almost identical to the current issue with Ted Harris...

btw - Bob is a friend of mine, so it's not like I'm getting 5th hand info...

I just ...

take mine to Bob Owen here in town. If he wasn't available for
some reason, we still have Randy Anderson here in town.
