what is up with these green emerald tiger tips everytime i put one on it easily can be torn off, like the bottom layer stays on and the rest easily tears off.

Never saw that happen.
I am a Tiger reseller and I have installed over 15-20 tips and never had one come off.
Are you installing one with a lathe or by hand?
The glue side of the tip is where it is engraved, not the other side.
When you face off the ferrule, and in layered tips I always clean it with a small piece of paper towel with acetone, that dries the ferrule better and cleans any type of grease the ferrule might release since some ferrules are bit more oily than others and never had an issue with a layered tip coming off the ferrule.

That is it with all Tiger tips.

Just for my enlightenment.....can you explain the premise behind this. If it is an attempt to preserve the preshaped radius I can understand....but what about tips that are flat on both sides......I fail to see the reason for a designated sanding side.......not that there is none....I just don't know why......someone enlighten me:)

All legit retail sale Tiger tips have one side engraved. On oem Tiger tips I am sure there is a way do identify the glue side but I do know how. The Tiger tips not engraved are oem and you're not supposed to be able to buy them. Those tips are for Predator, OB Cues, etc.

Wonderful information.....but it fails to adress the question

Never had a problem....

I've installed 6 or so without a lathe and had no problems at all. I've been using Loctite gel. I've even installed them with either side down and had no change in play or wear.
