GSBT Conyers, GA 821 & 8/22

I'm considering entering Shannon Daulton's GSBT event at Classic Billiards in Conyers, GA next weekend but I have no idea of my speed and whether or not I can compete. It's an A/B tournament but, having never played in a league or tournament before (I play almost exclusively at home alone), I have no idea if I would even get a game off of anyone in the tournament!

I did gamble some cheap, short 9-ball sets with Horace Godwin at the Pool Room in Duluth a couple of weeks back and lost something like 16-8 though I have no idea how much of his game he needed to beat me.

Thoughts?

If you can't beat the 9 ball ghost on loose pockets, I would say you would be a B player. You will be playing on diamond barboxes,league cut pockets. They are much more forgiving than the pro-cut pockets.
 
I think this would be a great opportunity to see how you do stack up against the AA, A, and B players that follow Shannon's events. It's a good test to see how you rank. Plus, you will meet a few really nice people and the GSBT events are always a great time. I plan on attending. Hope to see you there.

We would love to have you come and play in our tournament at Classic Billiards next weekend! I think you will love the format and know that you will enjoy yourself. Free practice and sign ups start at noon on Saturday and the player auction will start at 1:30pm. Come out and have some fun with us.
