How Many & When are Players Eliminated in the US Open?

Is there a link as to how many players are elimininated and when?

I think there's 8 players going into the final day? 64 go into Friday? 124 go into Thursday?

When a player loses 2 matches, he/she is out. Typical double elimination.

I was trying to get a bead on how many of the starting 256 are still playing Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
