some may recall a few years ago how i always - and i mean ALWAYS - complained about the horrible, horrible luck/rolls i get off the break. in case anyone is wondering, it continues to go on and on to this day.

OCD,

Maybe you should try a different game. Like, Shuffleboard. Or, Yahtzee.

Eric >or, maybe, washing hands repeatedly

Alright already....You have suffered over this long enough.....I will let you in on the secret of "The Rolls"

You will never get "good" rolls....you will only and always get bad rolls....the reason is that when you get "good rolls" it was what you intended to do....so it does not qualify as a good roll...

However...the bad roll was never ever ever your fault....it is always because of a bad rack, cloth too slow, too fast, dead cushion, too bouncy cushion, chunk o chalk on the table....or perhaps even a ball out of round.....not to mention "is that table level?..."Are those pockets cut right?...etc. etc, etc. etc. etc,

The secret is to get good enough that even though you get bad rolls...you still win.....when you get to that point.....the rolls.......continue to be bad............just not as often.

And to add to that, at least for me, I hardly keep a mental record of good rolls. In fact, I can't remember the last one. Not that there hasn't been one, but like said above you expect that desired outcome. But I think we do tend to keep a note of bad rolls or let it linger in the brain. I know I could at least remember a couple recently.

The better I got at the kicking at banking game the less it bothered me. Except for when that lucky @$$ would slop in the 9 haha

neil is smarter than he looks, and ill let you in on an even bigger secret: pleasures of small motion and the mental edge. there is a lot of edu material out there on the subject, but these are the best ive found. you can thank me later.

You aren't telling him anything he hasn't heard before.

Pool hates us all. You just have to rule it.

Sometimes you are the hammer, sometimes the nail, DCP.

It is a hard game and nobody has perfected it yet.

The advice given DCP over the years could fill a book itself. He has been told about Gallwey, Fancher, etc. , and his repsonse was that they taught him nothing.
