i wish they would find a different commentator. jim's voice and commentary are the worst.
 
I downloaded the app but don't see your "FREE" editions.. All of those available have a download price???

I can understand your opinion about not liking him but I don't understand how people can say is voice is poor or he doesn't know what he's doing. He's got a great voice for commentary and broadcasting. We simply aren't used to hearing commentary during a pool match that makes it sound like a professionally done production. We may be more comfortable with the familiar sounding talk of a Billy I or Danny D but IMO we are blessed to have Jim who can bridge the gap between real players who want to hear more substance and yet he's tv friendly and able to draw in the GENERAL PUBLIC. To me, that's most important. We have to think about whats best for the game not just selfishly what we enjoy the most.

Nice post dedstroke. The subtle difference for me in Jim Wych and somebody like the two you mentioned is...Billy and Danny make me lean back in my chair to enjoy the show; when I hear Jim's voice, I'm on the edge of my seat.

To say we were delighted to have Jim's thoughts on the forthcoming Mosconi Cup included in this edition would be an understatement.

Hello, just my 2 cents here. I wouldn't say his voice is bad for tv,just what comes out of it. He sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about, even if he does it just doesen't sound like it. I don't know too much about Jim's past or if he ever played pool, but I think in any pro sport the best commentaters are the ones who were somehow involved with the sport before they got behind the boothe. Watching last years MC he kept saying the phrase "To a man" over and over. It sounded cheesy and made me turn down the volume. As far as drawing in the general public, pool has tried for years with little succsess. I don't think an annoying commentater will help the cause any. Fact is, pool is supported by players who love the game. From beginers to pros. I've been to the US Open,DCC,and some other events as a spectator. I was there bc I love the game,which comes from playing the game. I just don't think people who don't play the game will ever get into it enough to pay to see even the greatest players play a match. Just my 2 cents...Have a nice day.
 
According to our stats, the majority of our sales for this month's Mosconi Cup special have been from the States...which is great news!

Yeah,I sometimes get tired of him telling us the colors of the balls.
But i guess he's talking to people who can't hit the end rail.

He doesn't talk like that in a pool hall.
Although college educated,he managed to become Canadian snooker
champ.He also made it to the top 32 in the world snooker rankings.
Jim feels he stinks at 9-ball but lost to Efren hill-hill.Dennis Hatch said
after winning 9-7 "It's no use hooking him.he always finds it."

And he played golf at a very low handicap.And bets his cash at every
game he plays plus all the sports.

He's also got a heart.
Years ago a Canadian amateur in England ran out of his lithium and
went postal in a club.He ended up in gaol...yeah,that's what they call
it there:eek:.Wych phoned his family in Canada,got medication and
payed his fines with all charges dropped and got him on a plane home.
He barely knew the guy.

So the next time you hear his voice it might help to know you're
listening to a talented athlete who bets his cash and is standup.

ps...just don't tell him a joke...he's got a laugh that'll make Shane
throw his hearing aid in the trash...

Well, I finally downloaded the issue 2 (Mosconi Cup) and have it say, it's very nice. It's easy, clean and well formatted. It's like the PC version of insidepoolmag but ALOT easier for your device. I bet this App is real nice on an IPad or the Evo (big screen). This will be great for my upcoming flight. Thanks, ron

P. S. The for sale section in the back, can any of those items be shipped to the US if we get intouch with the Ipool email listed???
