Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I look forward to tomorrow everyone should come out gonna be a great weekend of pool. Hope to see everyone there support this tourny so there is many more to come. Jesse Bowman

Frost rambling thru town with this line up of killers? Figured he would make a christmas trip and pool trip in one.

Too bad I committed to the POKER game long before the POOL tournament come up. Got's ta advertise. But I'm dead money in either, so i doubt it counts.

Scott said in Tulsa that he wasn't very happy with some of the stuff that happened the last time he played in Des Moines. I wish he would come back and play again though. Whitey said he would play Scott some 10-6.

That'd be some good action to watch again too.

Shaping up to be a big weekend in the little berg of Des Moines-es.

Bring your cue and some cash - we're friendly.

I know I mentioned this before but, I am also anxious to see how many local players come out and play in the tournaments. I understand that most won't play in the one pocket tournament, but the majority of the local players should be playing in the 9 ball tournament. That is what will make or break the event and determine whether they make this an annual or bi-annual tournament. How cool would it be to have an "Olathe" type tournament right here in our own backyard once or twice a year???

Randy mentioned to me on Monday that if this tournament is a success, he would be willing to run a tournament like this once or twice a year.

This is the first I've even heard of a tournament in town.

Okay, I might have missed it, but who is Jamie playing?...and when is that going down?

Let Fenton know its a game. Post 5 games. Can't go late sunday I've got to work early monday morning. What night is he thinking?

Just a few pages back, neighbor. I don't think that a time has been solidified, but knowing pool players - sometime between Thursday (Now) and Sunday (11 pm).

Anyone else know more? I hear the stream is in the house and would ya'll be so kind as to play on the internet??:o

I wonder if Brad's poker game will have wi-fi.

They are playing Friday sometime TBD. A buddy and mine will be heading out to sweat some of the action tomorrow night. Should be fun.

FYI...I haven't touched my cue for 3 weeks.....I WILL BE THERE!!!

No 9-Ball is not handicapped.

I don't knock the guys who want to play poker instead of pool. I mean realistically they have a better chance winning the poker tourney money AND they can sweat the best matches each round of each tourney from the poker game and their cell phones. Plus they might like poker more than pool. I like the pool action so it's really hard for me to miss but for others I can see why they wouldn't come. Realistically it's a lot of waiting around to play and lots of dull moments in between the good ones.

Do you think an employee should be loyal to the company they work for? Do you think that a company should be loyal to their employees? You answer this question right you know whether you should play pool or do whatever else you like to do on the weekend.

Come one Des Moines

If we want this level of pool to survive in our town, DSM pool players need to get to this tournament!! It's a race to 9 in nine ball....tell me your not getting your moneys worth. Not to mention the possible action this town hasn't seen in a looooooonnnnng time if ever.

Dust off your cues, stop making excuses and get out there everyone. Even if its just to sweat and spend some money at Big Dogs. Remember if they don't get the turn out, or Big Dogs doesn't bring in the money they need to to make this work, consider this tournament history....

Glad to see BigTruck will be in the house! I can't wait!

Would someone at least get a reach around if they have to play Bowman or Shuff straight up lol? Touch action there. Hopefully the locals are playing strong and don't let the out of towners take this tournament down!

LOL!!!! Does a reach around mean the same thing to both of us? A reach around would be a cock grab and hopefully ur requesting said reach around from a chick instead of a guy.

Well, we WERE up until that last post... :slap:

Two things actually -

I do have a better chance at Poker than pool - easily documentable. And I haven't master.. I mean 'touched my cue' in 3 weeks either.:thud:

Calendar - I only have a certain alotment of time 'out' and it's getting smaller. I had the poker tournament booked a LONG TIME before this pool tournament got put together. The advertising wasn't exactly prime - I would give it a B-.

So in my world, I'm playing poker - when i'm done, I'll come sweat or play some pool. Plus I didn't have all Thursday/Friday/Saturday/ etc to commit to playing.

But I am excitied for this tournament to come off and be successful. Sounds like a lot of names and people from parts unknown. Should be a good time. Next time, get it on the calendar sooner.:o
