Looking for some info on west system. So I would need 105 resin? what about hardener though? Is it possible for me to get a hardener for laminating that I can also use a filler with to get a consistency close to T-88 made By system Three? or am I going to need different hardeners for that?

Thanks
Greg

Well all of the west system products are based off of the 105 resin. To anwser you other question you would be best to call west system and talk to their tech's.

Hi Greg
Yes, you will probably need different hardeners depending on what you are doing. Usually, I would say no, but laminating, you would want a slower drying hardener for longer working time to set things up. For regular use you could get by with the 205 and 206 hardener. They also offer low and high density fillers.

Thanks Mike, That chart lays It out pretty well for Me. It looks like I may need 2 or 3 different hardeners if I add sealing to that list, although I have a brand new clear cote kit I want to try out, so I may wait on that particular hardener. I'll probably just start out with pints. If I'm using that many different hardeners, then I don't know that It would justify getting any larger size, and risking It going bad before I use them up. Guess I'm going to run down to west marine and pick some stuff up This weekend.

Thanks again for the info

FWIW, I was worried about that too, as I had some old stuff. Somewhere on their website (FAQs maybe?) the question is asked and they simply say something like "Resins and hardners will last for years on the shelf".

Mine was 4-5 years old and it still hardens like a rock.

My 2 cents,

Gary

Might as well get you a dose of 207 too. I've used it on the last 2 cues that I've built and I've been tickled with it.
