Got banned from my local pool room.

I remember Veterans now.

Is the league a local bar league? I remember a few of the places in that area had league. What are some of the places your league plays out of?
I presume that Veterens does not have teams in the league.
Did they at one time.
When I was there I guess the current league operator was the owner of Veterans.
That was probably who I met.
 
Yea there used to be leuges out of there when the current operator owned the place, I would see a lot of good players run in and out of the place, when he sold it, the place started dying out. Do me a favor and don't mention names though, the operator is a great guy and I dont want anybody to think I am bashing him, he's a good friend.
 
My "banned" story:

I was once banned from a poolroom because I was sitting next to a friend of mine. There was a table that the balls would bounce in the air after hitting the cushion so my friend brought in a ruler to measure the rail height to hopefully have the issue corrected. The owner came in that afternoon after his boat sunk, so he wasn't happy already, the counter guy told him that my friend was measuring the rails - the owner got so worked up that he starting yelling at my friend that if he wasn't happy w/the equipment, why doesn't he just get out and don't come back (more colorful words were used :) ). Because I was next to my friend that just got booted, he said and take your friend with you (more colorful words :) ).

A couple days later after he cooled off, he apologized and let me back in, but I never felt comfortable around him after that, so I barred myself after a couple weeks and never returned.

The moral of the story, life is to short to be treated poorly and still frequent their pool room spending your hard earned money. I think he showed his true colors and quick temper. You may be better off w/o going to that place. I was glad I made the decision I made so I thought I'd share. Sometimes you just get sucked up into somebody else crap.

How about a call to the Better Business Bureau
 
I'm just guessing, but I think what happened was this guy was playing in one poolroom and he asked another new player in town to play on a team that plays out of another poolroom. The new owner here and the league operator have a problem with each other so there is no league out of this poolroom and the owner feels threatened by the loss of business because he is a poor operator and going downhill already so he got fired up and booted this guy out. Worrying about what your competition is one of the worst things you can do in business. The key is to run your business as clean, friendly and as well as one you would want to go to. Well run businesses will help promote events in town even though they may be at another business because they realize any good promotion in town will help everyone in the end.
 
What I didn't understand was, if they jus put their differences aside, they can make more money... they would be more teams in the league and people from other teams from other bars a stuff would be going there giving the room owner more business. But in reality, I realized that there is just no dealing with this guy and I understood that one quickly.

It don't take customers long to learn that the guy is an ass. Even when I was 18, and the guy at the cigar store where I played occasionally, said something out of line to me, I took my business down the street. I was strict with my customers, when I had my 2 rooms open, but fair with them too. They knew I wouldn't let anyone bother them, or pick fights, but I enforced the rules equally. One of my friends told me a while back, that I was a real hardass back then. But I got all their respect, and they always came back to shoot pool.

This guy will be out of business soon. Maybe you can buy a pool room cheap.
 
I have been banned from a few(4 or 5) pool rooms back in the day, on a couple occasions a year or two later I was let back in. But I awalys made sure that I didnt get banned from a joint I was making $$$ in or liked. Now days i'm to lazy to act up enough to get banned, LOL


To the OP, I hope things work out for you, that was my point-time heals all wounds. Hell I had people who wanted to kill me(litterly) back in the day that are friends now, go figure.

Now many of my dreams have a huge hault put on them. I am now forced to save littler money wait to go back to work when I can from this back crap. I have to travel way farther to find action. I lost my five hundred a month income and time and everything. I dont get to learn from john. I mean its retarted cuz someone started a rumor and all some dumb shit that other people do and me and my girl get screwd yea she was told form john he would pay for her to quit her job at a casino becouse she was getting low hours and he eventually fired her after tryin to pay her less andless each weak. She put job applicatons in right away and with having a car insurance and payment and cell bill she almost lost her car and shit she just now is gettin to work from her first and only phone call back.

You want to go on the road I play pretty strong and noone knows me.
lol Best of luck and if I can give any advice move on and get revenge with sucsess. People like that are suffering belive me they are in pain every day from being unhappy and ect ect there selfish ego maniacs that are a disgrace to pool.

I called the guy that wanted to join my team and had to make sure he still wanted to play... I didn't want to get banned for nothing lol even though I pretty much did.

I had a situation about as odd as this, where I got banned because I was invited to a Christmas party by an employee of the bar/pool room and for whatever reason the owner got all pissed off at the girl that worked there and kicked us both out. He got word to me a few weeks later that I could still go in there and spend my money (what a nice guy) but I better not say anything to anyone. I walked in, bought a few drinks, went over to the corner table, whipped out my hog, pissed all over it, then slowly and calmly walked out of the place, never to return.

Wasn't the most adult act on my part, I admit, but F him!
