I agree. After buying many high dollar cases over the years I'd come to think that I'd never find a case I was completely happy with. One of these cases looked good and had pretty good leather but not enough room for the crapola I wanted to carry, and the cues fit too loose and fell too deep into the compartments. Another looked good, had enough pocket room and supplied spacers for the falling-in problem but the leather was kind of thin and felt cheap. A third, custom built by a now-retired leather craftsman, had great leather but also a number of problems, most of which were my fault because I was too inexperienced to know that my specifications added up to an impractical case. And there were others over the years that disappointed me.
Six months ago I received my JB case and I finally have a case I am completely happy with, pleased as all-get-out, in fact. Really nice leather, lots of pocket room (made to my specs), cozy fit and great protection, neat features like the magnetic closure, rubber sole, spacer allowing jump butt to fit into a shaft compartment. I'm quite sure I will never buy another case unless this one gets stolen or something.
In a way there are two John Bartons. One argues a lot in the forums about aiming systems and whatever else sets him off, and in the process some people form a negative impression of him. The other JB is a very professional businessman who runs a shop that turns out awesome cases at very reasonable prices and bends over backward to provide customer satisfaction. Of course it's the same obsessive guy. His obsessiveness is channeled into designing and building great cases in addition to winning online arguments. Sorry for the amateur psychology.
I was about to say "too bad JB Cases isn't on Facebook so I could 'like' him." But I just looked to make sure he wasn't, and there he is. So I have just become the 10th person to "like" JB Cases.
Ure right aboiut the facebook , and i will be ordering another case from him in the near future this time with my name and full specs and let him do his thing . What matters most is cue protection
Just so there's no misunderstanding, in my lengthy post above I criticized three unnamed cases but I wasn't thinking of the 1x2 case made for me by Marc Turcasso (Matcase on AZB). Marc made me a beautiful leather case which I use when I go out to play three cushion (one cue, no accessories needed). Since I mention his case in my signature, I don't want anyone to get the impression that I was talking about his case. He did a terrific job and I love that case also.
Thanks guys. Marc's cases are the nuts and IMO he is the closest to Chas Clements that there is as far as unique artistry AND construction goes at the moment. Speaking purely on style and design choices. Others like Rusty Melton and Del W. are right there with the leather work and construction.
Al Kinghorn, King's cases, is building some great cases with tight leather work. There are many great casemakers coming on the scene and I feel fortunate to be among them. I see as well that people are getting smarter about discerning good work and learning about leather crafting and that's good for everyone.
I just keep plugging away at trying to find better ways to build the interior and protect the cues. We then just put layers of leather or other materials around those interiors and ship them out hoping that they last a long time.

That protoype case I bought from you a few weeks is the hands down the best case I've owned. A lot of people have asked me about that case because they haven't seen anything like it.
