Which Breaker?

I currently use a J&J which is good but but I am looking for more control and less... bodily impact? Bodily impact meaning when I put a lot of speed/power in my break I really feel it in my arm.

I know these are popular break cues but they are out of my price range so I found the Lucasi Hybrid Cue - Big Beulah 2. If I get the cue I'll be selling the jumper that comes with it so that will put it in my price range.

Right now I'm just working with price and name so I'm just wonder how it fairs against a :

Predator BK2
Mezz break cue
or
Poison VX 2.9 Jump Break ?

Lol

Of course you are going to feel it, your arm is involved in the break, especially with quite a bit of speed on it, and will be with ANY break cue.

I have a question for you, Do you have the rest of your body involved in the break too? Because a lot of power on the break can come from your legs and hips, and not just your arm. So, maybe, it is your breaking technique that is the problem instead of the cue.

Now, you can take some speed off your break, but at the risk of NOT making balls on the break, if that is what you want to do to lessen the shock to your arm and shoulder. Do you have an injury to your arm or shoulder, and that is what bothers you?

BTW, I have a J&J break/jump cue, and I think they are a lot of bang for the buck, and I haven't seen any break cue yet that I would trade it for.

The best break cue I have used is a jerico stinger. They have a very stiff taper and it really feels solid when you hit the cueball. IMO the j&j cues don't have a break cue taper it is more of a taper you would find on a playing cue and it does make a big difference. As far as the body movement it sounds like a mechanics issue not a cue issue.

haha I know I'm going to "feel" it with any cue. It's "what" I'm feeling that gets annoying after a few breaks.

I use legs hips and arms when I'm going for the "power" breaks.

I agree the J&J is the best for the buck. With that said, the buck isn't that much and neither is the performance once you compare it with the others out there.

I have a Lucasi Big Beulah 2 and I am very pleased with it. It was not what I had originally wanted, so I settled. It ended up growing on me and I don't think I would trade it fir another break cue at the moment. I had originally wanted the poison jump/break but it was out of stock. One of my teamates has the poison and after I tried it I couldn't be happier with my Big Beulah!

Thank you for the input.
