How about a Vegas warm-up tourney? Dave Coles wants to give more money away!

Let me know what you think. Good date? What game? I need the players input!!

I need some more feedback... post it here in the thread or PM me if you prefer to remain anonymous ;)

Beloit

How about regular old 9-ball texas express with a calcutta and buy in to a break and run pot? get several ppl to buy in and keep drawing names till someone wins it.

Tough call........I'll be in Vegas for APA singles the weekend before the 7th. Not sure if the boss lady is going to like if i'm in Beloit the next weekend.

Format: How about something different, like an open tournament but players on the Master list have to give some weight to the Non-Masters?

Like 2 games in a race to 6, 8ball? 2 games in a race to 7 10ball?

Getting some more feedback now. May is sure a busy month with all the national tourneys!

Thinking about a combined event, handicapped (unusual for us), possibly June 25th & July 30th. Winner of the flip picks the game (8, 9 or 10) and loser breaks first. Gives everyone a chance to play their favorite game & hopefully match up with new players.

Brainstorming...

Still on the bar tables and still great added money plus calcutta

How's that sound??

Ok with me. How much entry ?
Suggestions - How about making the No Master's tournaments next season handicapped B, A & AA? There are spots given in games all the time. maybe games on the wire, the 8 and the break etc.
You guys all know the players and what you should rate everybody? if you got an unknown you could automatically rate them AA until you have some type of idea what their true rating should be. It might give some people a chance against the better players. And it might get more money in the calcuttas because then the lower caliber people might get bid up some because the might have a better chance. And it makes the better player have to play to their ablities and not just know their suppose to win. Alot of players know that their chances against alot of the players aren't very good. But if they have some type of a spot it might give them a chance.

Handicapped tourneys are not good for pool in general. We are only thinking of doing this in the summer to keep everyone busy. We want everyone to play, practice and get better!!! Please do not rest on your laurels as a "B" or "A" player. Work at your game and the results will be there for you in the end.

Summer Showdown In "B" Town coming soon!!! Mark your calendars for June 25th. Only $35 entry with $1000 added pro-rated on 64 players. All players welcome so this will be handicapped. Details to follow soon...

It was just a suggestion.
The date is marked down. When you send out the details, I'll send the money.

I'd hate to see the No Master tournament handicapped. The unknown is what makes that tournament so exciting.

Looking forward to June 25th.

I hate the handicapped tournaments because if you're not a champion you're donating your entry fee the first time you play. There are some rooms in the Chicago area that do this with unknown players. I get the chance to go there once every couple years and since they don't know me I have to play at the highest skill level there -which I am not! Due to this, I don't play in them. If this is bar table pool every decent player has a slugger's chance to win any given match. Also, I love calcuttas!

Are you going to make a list and pay when you get there or does Dave want it prepaid ?

just throwing this out there but how about a doubles tournment. A master and a no master on the same team, or 2 no masters on the same team. Make a list of both so there is no confusion.
