I have a couple of questions regarding the United joint (also posted on a couple of other threads):

1) Is the United joint interchangeable with other 5/16 x 14 joints--does a United shaft fit another 5/16x14 butt (say, Schon or Joss) and vice versa does a 5/16x14 shaft fit a United butt (Mezz)?

2) Is there a difference between a 5/16x14 shaft with black collar and with silver rings, or is the difference only cosmetic?

i went home for lunch. i tried a 5/16x14 on my mezz and i tried my mezz shaft on my 5/16x14 cue both fit great...
