>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FS Mottey Monster Cue -- Perfect In All Respects <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Paul made 2 of these cues. I owned both of them at one time. Got a lot of flack because of the copy of the Ginacue. The one on Proficient Site is my picture of the other cue that was refinished at Proficient. Casey

yes.. i got to play with that one before it was refinished.. back in 2004, i owned two shafts from it.. one was a predator shaft with the fancy ring work and ivory ferrule and the other was a spliced shaft that paul made with the fancy ring work and ivory ferrule and was slightly shorter then the other shafts..

both of these shafts played really good.. i used them on my schon.. which i sold at the SBE with the shafts to Spanky so i would have cash to buy my first Paul mottey cue (in my avatar)

if you owned both of these cues, you my friend are a lucky man because they both are amazing...

Too bad the original posts were pulled... I thought Justin made a great point about the controversy surrounding the Mottey cues may lead to them being more collectible in the future. I tend to agree with that concept. There will not be many cues that become desirable because the cue was a direct copy of another cue... but since Paul is retired, and the rumor is Ernie will be soon, I believe the two Gina copies may become collectible.

If I owned the original Gina, I would be after the Mottey copies. Those cues together would be more valuable that the sum of the cues apart IMO.

I fail to see how the information that was posted was in any way out of line and justified to be pulled. At any rate, I'm sure the cue will sell soon. G/L.

Are you including the dragon princess (the full scrimmed handle version) in your count?

If the dragon princess looks like the picture of the Mottey on here, the answer is No. I've only seen 2 like the one's I had. I will post pics of the Butts of both.

Mottey Butts

Pics of the two Motteys that I owned. Both are very nice cues. Thanks, Casey. Hope you enjoy.

Hi Casey: Please post some photos of the forearm of the other Mottey. Thanks, Mike

Mike, made me sick looking at the pics of the Gina's , Szamboti's , BB , and other high end cues that I had fun collecting. That's life. Here are the pics of the forearm of the other Mottey, all I have of it. Casey

The Dragon princess in the same cue with a full ivory handle that is 100% etched/scrim.

I've sold 2 monsters (a Showman & a Haley) in the past 8 days, so I figured the timing is right to list this 2003 MOTTEY monster cue for sale, which is PERFECT IN ALL RESPECTS & ROLLS DEAD STRAIGHT TOGETHER & APART. The forearm is the blackest piece of Ebony I have ever seen and features 4 razor-sharp Ivory and Snakewood points. The butt sleeve is Ebony, Ivory and Snakewood. The Ivory rings on this cue are incredible. The wrap is black Lizard. The butt cap is Ivory. The joint is piloted Ivory with a 5/16-14 screw. Both shafts have Ivory ferrules and show absolutely no signs of ever having been played. The cue is a 100 out of 100 in terms of condition.

The specs are:

Length: 29.0" + 29.0" = 58.0

Weight: 19.7 oz. with either; the butt alone weighs 15.5 oz. (both shafts are 4.2 oz.)

Shaft Diameters: 12.94 mm and 12.93 mm.

My CASH price is $7,290.00 (form of payment to be agreed upon) delivered with $5,000 of insurance (the maximum the Post Office will insure an item for) by USPS Express Mail to any point in the Continental U.S. I will consider partial trades, but only for MINT or NEAR MINT & STRAIGHT cues from very desireable makers.

Mike

USPS will insure for up to 25K (last time I looked). In order to do so you have to use registered mail. Their treatment of registered mail is so safe (signed for by each accepting PO employee along the way) that 5K worth of insurance is actually cheaper with registered mail than it is with priority mail. There are packaging requirements that you can learn about at the USPS website.

this pic is from a thread in the cue and case gallery here on the forum...

Hi Casey: Thanks for posting photos of the twin to my cue. Do you agree that mine is more colorful and striking than its twin?

Usps priority AND express will only insure up to 5k.
Usps registered, you can insure those packages into the millions.
Safest way to ship a package by far, BUT it can take a week to get.

Chris

USPS Registered Mail ups their insurance limit from 5K to 25K.

Thanks

Well, I'm not going to argue with you.
I've seen the rates in the books they have.
They can go into the millions.
I know high end jewlers who ship diamonds this way.
They ship WAY higher than 25k.
I remember reading that there is a small extra fee for every extra 100k you ship.

chris G<------forgets alot, but didn't forget that

I'm curious and/or confused. Many people said this Mottey was "an exact copy" of Ernie's cue. I didn't see one in the pic that was exactly the same. Is there a cue that's an exact copy?

Pete

If any one has a photo of the Ginacue that Mottey allegedly made exact copies of when he made the Mottey cues depicted in this thread, please post it. Thanks.
